Well since 2010, there were 3 occurances when it happened. I try to give you a rough estimate of the price movements. Dec 2012 - Feb 2013, it moved from $1.30 to $1.60. Mar 2012 - Apr 2012, it moved from $1.60 to $1.75. Jun 2010 - Nov 2010, it moved from $1 to $2.30. The idea is a golden cross will result in the stock moving up positively.

Golden cross is based on 50 days and 100 days moving averages crossover. It has been this way for 2 weeks but I am just waiting for support and good reports to come out from the sell side brokers to confirm this.

A search in Google for Olympics 2014 shows the Winter Olympics will be held in Feb 2014 in Sochi, Russia. I don't know if a boycott by certain countries would affect the games. Japan is preparing for Olympics 2020. During Olympics and global sports events, our market has always been dead as attention are mostly directed away from stocks. At the same time, Japan has approved to allow casinos in the country. Genting was initially an aspirant for the licence, but there is no news if they would get it. However, Japan might give more licences than our Singapore since Japan is a large country, so the possibility is there. Japanese casinos won't be getting many customers if they don't settle the island issues with China amicably, as casinos attract alot of mainland Chinese players since they love gambling and have money to throw. Could Japan be thinking of the Diaoyu islands for its casinos? Who knows?.. LoL. |

Don't worry lah. Japan side the casino licence might put on the finishing touches, then you can enjoy the best ride Genting Sp can offer, lol. But I think this will be after two things: The Olympics, and the spat between Japan and China cools down with some bilateral compromise.

after failing to merge with Australia stock exchange , seems there is no further viable strategy Clueless leaving politics aside, the best option is to merge with Hong Kong Stock Exchange. This wont be good for the existing board of directors and C level executives but is good for long term viability for Singapore
