x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	there might be some reversal of fortune for the company (and it' s stock price), only if some/all of these things start happening - but as of now - slim chance:  - Staff Retrenchment (Yes, its a good thing) - TWD currency start to strengthen greatly (it' s been very weak over the years) -    Interest rates go down  (Fed' s will be raising the interest rates over the next few years)  - TWD government start raising the prices for broadband/data plans (They are having election now, u think the TW gov will raise prices? ) I won' t comment on the stock price now. Any nearterm price spikes or dips of 5% - 10% is just noise, and more for traders to make a quick buck and exit.

Even with reduced I/r or lower debts, they will most likely shore up cash in anticipation of continued reduction in sales. They are not the market leader (price taker). This is a biz trust. x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Finally this thread has awaken... been a while since I last posted this.   The way I see this company - it' s going the way of Kodak and Tower Records.  Went to Taiwan recently - I don' t even need WIFI - their unlimited 4G Sim card is sufficient for all my data needs to watch netflix... need I say more?  It will take the same number of years for this company to repay it' s debt and for the stock to reach 50c. The writing is already on the wall, just take a look at what happened to StarHub recently...    Don' t need to depend on analyst / gurus' advice... This is all basic common sense. Hope I have helped you all to decide what to do with your APPT holdings. Cheers. =)

It was very clear a dividend cut was coming. I asked the question in latest AGM in public about their high debt level and their  free cash flow not  being sufficient  to cover  dividends and they said they can only guarantee dividend level  for this year. The only thing which was not clear is how much dividend was going to be cut, because understandably that depends on evolution of the business over the year and situation in the debt markets. Especially the crunch in debt markets is more serious than expected during last few weeks (I can see that with some other investments in company with an upcoming debt wall), so with a soft business environment this was probably the best decision they could do to protect the assets and the shareholders. Unfortunately there is no way for the company to avoid such a drastic share price drop with such a large dividend cut given the limited liquidity in this counter, the  income focused investor base  and the nervous market environment... C' est la vie...There might be some other counters where we could consider suing due to lack of transparancy or other reasons, but not this one...
