I dont see much downside from here unless black swan events like China regulatory risks happen.. with a PE of less than 3 and with factors all in its favour ie falling raw material prices and higher prices for final goods and higher demand... things look good... One downside is the reluctance of these S chips to issure dividends and buy back shares (if they have such a mandate). For our market, divy is so important... |

Right now, I feel the positive not priced in yet is a new factory for JT. The longer the wait to get approvals for new chemical factories, the higher the prices of chemical products could rise if cannot create more supply to meet demand. So whether slow approval or fast approval both should benefit JT the same way: Profit up. |

For now, I just treat JT like a reit with future expansion potential. Q3 report should show 9-mth profit surpassing 2020 full year profit. If give a 2nd dividend of $0.0035 dividend, yield will be 8.75% at 8c. If $0.004, yield will be 9.375%. If got one-time special dividend... :P |

In a way, JT is like riverstone and the glove stocks, all went up last year but now with markets getting out of the pandemic story, even though the stock has superb earnings quarter after quarter, share price only reach lower lows. Which means interestingly that last year was not normal. | ||

No use lei, JT share price can't even go back to 0.11 levels where the high was only 9000 last year. I guess after it has risen 4-5 fold from 0.020 levels to current levels, it may all have been priced in, given the risk profile of JT as an S chip, China stock, and global markets at stretched valuations. | ||

Hmm... If US is doing so well until all become so " scared" of Fed, doesn' t this also mean prosperous US will buy more stuff from China? So more business is bad for JT in what way exactly? |

Just for fun I did this calculation to see what the NAV might look like if go up by the same 14.28 fen one year later: 32.78 fen + 14.28 fen = 47.06 fen 47.06 fen is around SG 9.88c :P

Hope this sharing can bring some cheer to everyone. In the 2020 q2 report, JT' s NAV was 18.50 fen. In this 2021 q2 report, improved NAV is 32.78 fen. So JT' s NAV increased by 14.28 fen or about SG 3c in one year! Like this, investors not only can collect dividend, their JT shares also increase in value quickly. As this year' s profit will likely be much higher than last year' s, we could see JT' s NAV rise a lot again by q2 2022. :) |
