3.3m sh done at 38.5. bbs pushing, shorties kena liao.

Good observation. We all know that there will be synergy/benefit in the said acquisition but at what cost? Paying USD 172.5M for these 2 companies NAV at USD 13.5M , annual profit USD 4M and owns only 27 barges? Anyway I have just sold the rest of my shares. May buy back at the ' right price' , see situation

I kinda think it is an overpriced deal still.. that usd 220mil figure is based on 100-120 barges if I'm not wrong.. the acquisition target doesn't even have that fleet number.. next, there is still the cost of operating the fleet.. so what we should look at is the profits of the targets cos this is then considered as the savings.. and considering the target's profit and 51% stake, we are paying like 30+ p/e for that.. unless these vessels are under utilised and can further monetise them.. not really please as a shareholder

GEO's acquisition of a barge company for US$86 million is a strategic move projected to save over US$220 million annually. The share issuance for this deal is priced at a premium of S$0.40. Key benefits include: (1) recovering the investment within a year through cost savings, (2) enhanced coal transport capacity from remote mine locations with prioritized access, (3) increased revenue, cost efficiencies, higher net profits, and potential for larger future dividends, and (4) additional income from the barge company?s assets, which serve other mining firms.

Combined with the haul road project, it looks like GEO is building a secondary revenue stream and internal savings through transportation operations.
