Over the week end ICI4 had jumped 9.57% to US$88.75 per Ton. Newcastle coal broke more then decade high to US$435 per Ton. Winter season has not started yet but savvy investors r rushing for the limited supply of Coal. In Shanghai stock Exchange Investors had being snapping up China' s coal stocks (China' s coal index surged roughly 10% surged roughly 10% ....) & also in Indonesia (PT Radhika Jananta Raya, a subsidiary of PT ABM Investama Tbk, ABM) signed agreement to buy 30% GEMS for US$420 m). Thus the global demand for coal is surging n savvy investors r putting their money into coal to ride on this coal super cycle. Looking excitedly for Geo & Golden Energy will start to fly tmr... |

RIGHT OF FIRST REFUSAL IN CONNECTION WITH A 30% INTEREST IN PT GOLDEN ENERGY MINES TBK The Company wishes to announce that it has, on 1 September 2022, received a transfer notice (&ldquo Transfer Notice&rdquo ) from GMR Coal Resources Pte Ltd (&ldquo GMR&rdquo ) of GMR&rsquo s intention to sell 1,764,705,900 shares (&ldquo GEMS Sale Shares&rdquo ) (representing an approximately 30% interest) of the Company&rsquo s subsidiary, PT Golden Energy Mines Tbk (&ldquo GEMS&rdquo ), to PT Radhika Jananta Raya (the &ldquo Purchaser&rdquo ). The Company understands that the Purchaser is a wholly owned subsidiary of PT ABM Investama Tbk. The Company is not a party to the aforementioned proposed transaction between the Purchaser and GMR, and is not privy to any further information apart from that stated in this announcement. Under the Transfer Notice, GMR has requested that: (a) the Company confirms that it will not exercise its right to purchase GMR&rsquo s GEMS Sale Shares under the shareholders agreement dated 11 August 2011 (as amended) between the Company and GMR (&ldquo SHA&rdquo ), with respect to GMR&rsquo s sale of the GEMS Sale Shares to the Purchaser and (b) the Company confirms that the restriction in the SHA relating to transfers to competitors will not apply to the transfer of GMR&rsquo s Sale Shares to the Purchaser. The Company is considering GMR&rsquo s request and has not formed a definitive view with respect to GMR&rsquo s request. Today GEAR dropped is caused by high volume of shorting by the shortists, they spent a total $811,583 shorting down 1,253,100 shares at an average price of 64.7c. This could be the trap that BB had set to trap the shortist becoz the might hv insider news of GMR Group will divest 30 per cent stake in Indonesia-based bituminous coal mining firm PT Golden Energy Mines (PT GEMS) for USD 420 million. Shortist may hv to cover their position fast before being burnt badly..... Hope Golden Energy will announce further good news .... please do ur own due deligence!

GMR Group to divest 30% stake in Indonesia' s PT GEMS for $420 mnThe divestment will give thrust to GMR' s non-airport business through reduction of leverage and give a platform for the growth of its clean energy initiativesInfrastructure conglomerate GMR Group will divest 30 per cent stake in Indonesia-based bituminous coal mining firm PT Golden Energy Mines (PT GEMS) for USD 420 million (around Rs 3,360 crore), according to a regulatory filing. The divestment will give thrust to GMR' s non-airport business through reduction of leverage and give a platform for the growth of its clean energy initiatives. GMR Coal Resources Pte Ltd (GCRPL), a step-down subsidiary of GMR Power and Urban Infra Ltd (GPUIL), has signed definitive pacts to offload the 30 per cent stake it holds in PT GEMS to PT Radhika Jananta Raya, an arm of PT ABM Investama Tbk (ABM), following a competitive bidding process, the filing said. GPUIL -- a subsidiary of GMR Enterprises (GEPL) -- holds expertise in the energy, urban infrastructure and transportation sectors. GCRPL will receive a gross consideration of USD 420 million on closure, GPUIL said in a filing to BSE, adding it will also get a deferred consideration based on mutually agreed milestones. The transaction is subject to customary approvals as applicable. " This divestment reiterates GMR Group' s strategy of focusing on its core infrastructure business and exiting non-core businesses," GMR Group corporate chairman Grandhi Kiran Kumar said. PT ABM Investama Tbk is an Indonesia-based integrated energy company for strategic investment, engaged in providing integrated solutions across the mining value chain. |

Great! that the reason why GEMS share price shot up with high vol. This very likely put a fair value on Indonesia coal mines companies, Golden Energy which own 62.5% of GEMS will benefit from this market new valuation. Geo Energy fair value will be upgraded also.... | ||||

Although this transaction will be for the benefit of majority owners themselves, hopefully there will be revelation of sale price so that it provides a good gauge how much GEMS or similar thermal coal company e.g. Geo is worth.
