x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	I have learnt that most people in stock forums are traders, day-traders, shortists. Very few people in stock forums are longterm/buy-and-hold investors or dividend investors. Traders and investors see opportunities very differently and have a different set of buy/sell criteria. Long-term/dividend investors focus mostly on fundamentals. x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Hi, was/am thinking of re-vesting in this after divesting much earlier.  Probably the only thing positive in such an investing thesis (yield) is the 2-year guidance of 1.2cents dpu.  Property REITS has no such guidance (as they' re committed to distribute a certain min amount of profits) but REITS are a safer play so can sleep a little better.  The guidance provided is also subject to no change in planning assumptions and although they said the dpu would be reviewed after 2 years, there' s no assurance it wouldn' t drop further.  2 years' a long time but investors tend to project forward.  Looking at their biz there' s a lot of chipping away of their core due to piracy issues (think BEIN Sports case, bootleg set-top boxes, free internet downloads, so many and who' s to say it wouldn' t get worse).  So will likely stay away for now and mid-term. think2profit      ( Date: 16-Nov-2018 10:09) Posted: I don' t think a good shortist will short APTT at current price. I see cutting the div to 1.2c is a good measure. I think the answer is no and therefore we should gradually see price move up to close the gap as fear subsides. I think there is a good chance for this to  happen when investors/traders start to scrutinize and realize that the operating indicators looks pretty healthy. While they lost 2,000 subscribers in Basic Cable TV  from 759k to 757k, on the other hand, they gained a total of 11,000  subscribers  together in premium digital cable TV and Broadband.  Not too bad in my view and  it should support the gap closure on the days to come.  Do you notice the  drop out rate for Basic Cable TV is slow? I believe this is because those subscribers  living in the 2rd/3rd tier cities are older generation and therefore they are less likely to change their habits, esp IPTT provides them with almost 170 channels for varieties. Many probably are comfortable to pay the subscription rate of about S$25 per month and enjoy those  super long taiwanese TV series that can stretch over many years.  While basic cable TV will  eventually vaporise,  I don' t think we will see it happen suddenly given the demographic of their subscriber base and therefore this  is actually a great cash cow to provide the cash flow to support the new growth area..  Anyway, no brainer to pick up some share at this  distressed price now and wait for the 1.625c div within next 2 months.
