One of those will be severe enough to cause a big selldown in stocks that do not have profits to show for the forseeable future including QT. Dont forget, the pre IPO and IPO placees have a lockup period that expires in Oct 2014. We shall see what is it like during the free to sell period. And I believe the company is not stupid enough to put itself up for sale now, as the valuation will be higher AFTER the next FDA approval for DCC.

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Based on the latest results, sales are growing.  This is important as it is an indication of product acceptance.  With acceptance, sales will grow further as more hospitals and doctors use the products.  Improving sales is the way to profitability.  End user market sales value is also the benchmark used in an M& A to value the company.  For companies in the healthcare sector in USA, especially for the case of small and growth companies, a buyout offer is usually pegged to the sales of the acquisition target.  Based on cases reported in about the last 3 years, the price-to-sales ratio ranges between 6x to 10x.  So as sales grow, the M& A value of the company also increases.  Therefore it is important to grow sales. What about the possibility of J& J buying QTV?  Nobody can tell.    The stronger the sales numbers, the higher the possibility and the stronger the product pipeline due to its continued R& D, the higher the possibility too.  If a buyout ever occur, whether is J& J or another pharmaceutical giant, it depends on the price being offered.  Look at the case of Pfizer trying to acquire AstraZeneca, an acquisition price of US$118 billion was rejected as the board of AstraZeneca think that a fair price would be 10% more.  So if a buyout occurs to QTV, it is up to the board of directors and shareholders to assess the attractiveness of the offer.  CIMB' s report est a sales of US$28 mil sales for FY2015 ie S$35 mil.  As QTV sells to J& J is at about half the end user market price, this mean the estimated end user market sales value in FY2015 is S$80 mil (let' s assume that end user market is 80% higher).  Using the M& A price-to-sales range of 6x to 10x, the buyout value would be S$480mil to S$800 mil.  This works out to be S$0.63 to S$1.03 per share.  The timing of the timeout offer also matters.  The later it comes, the higher the buyout value as sales would have grown higher.  Will it come and when will it come?     I quote an extract from CIMB' s report in view of the Medtronic acquisition of Covidien for US$42.9 bil. The M& A angle &ndash What and how it matters The new Medtronic-Covidien outfit is set to become a close competitor to the medical device business of Johnson & Johnson Co. (J& J). The former now has two DEB products (Invatec and CV Ingenuity) that are targeting US FDA clearance and commercialisation in the near future. Invatec and CV Ingenuity will no longer be competing with each other and Medtronic-Covidien could take a big chunk of the DEB market. The big or perhaps billion-dollar question is whether this will add pressure on J& J&rsquo s M& A team to look hard at QTV which can offer it an entry into the DEB game. Will target prices be lowerd due to any event?  Of course yes.  If sales do not grow as expected, profitability would come later.  If regulatory approval is delayed, sales launch would be delayed.  If there is product quality issue, sales would be affected.  If R& D efforts yield less than expected results, competitive position of the company in the industry would be affected.  Thus, continue monitoring of the company' s performance on the above key performance indices is necessary.    dragonn      ( Date: 27-Jun-2014 10:21) Posted: One more question to add on, What will happen if a buyout ever occurs?   Also UOBKayhian had once said the Target price is 0.51, now it changes to 0.61 OCBC and 0.64 CIMB.
