There is no 100% gurantee that the share price will rise prior to XD.. If is 100%, everyone of us will be millionaire already. We will all sell our houses, go bank borrow $$$ and hoot Asian TV is it is gurranteed that the share price will rise due to CD. Look at last quarter dividend, share price NEVER rise prior to XD.. infact it went down

If u look at last dividend when results was annouced on 6th Aug, the share price NEVER went up , all the way until XD.. Not trying to pour cold water or what, u seem to think that share price will 100% go up?? that is a very risky thought

Dun say I never help. Based on the last dividend share price pattern. All information can be obtained from SGX and google. Summarised for you. 6th Aug 12am = Annouce results. Dividend 1.6x cents 6th Aug trading close 41 cents. Share price slowly drifted down until 19 Sept (XD). After 19 Sept, share price dropped due to adjustment of 1.6x dividend given out. U can make ur own decision. Charts dun lie :) Cheers ![]()

it is usual case for alot of companies but do not expect jump back too high. I guess 0.2 but also monitor the sentiment.. if the sentiment very back... BB will not push also.

Hi Berani in your oponion so you think the share price will go up before 12th dec as dividend is coming soon so the share price will at least go up a bit?

Most if not all property ctrs have high debt.  TS=1.8bil, CDL=8bil, HKL=8bil, UOL=5bil, Capitaland=29bil.  So, high interest will impact all.  But I think it is sentiment that is impacting property counters more.  Most trading ard 50% NAV.  Important thing is how fast they are able to generate recurrent income n/or recycle capital to cover debt n interest.  For this, I think TS lag behind the others, although I think they are aware of it n are doing a balancing act to increase recurrent income going forward (which shd likely improve div to, going forward).  (Note:  There was a brief period ard 2009 when TS had 0 debt, after flipping Katong Mall for a quick profit of ard 50 mil.  Yet, share px remain ard 50% of NAV.  Thus, if TS' NaV increases to 1.20 in five yrs - 2010, NAV was ard 43c  -  chances are that share px has a chance to move to ard 60c?)  As for interest rates, it' s not likely to go on forever.  Already one of the FED members has noted that the FED is close to a neutral rate (perhaps with another 50-75 basis pts up next yr?).  After that, if if US growth does u-turns (the same FED member has also noted some evidence of global slowing), there&rsquo s also a good chance that interest rates might reverse gear too.

haha.. maybe can give a few good recommendation. I think is better for someone to switch to other good valued counters rather than keeping Asian TV which may end up like Hyflux. As explained... I rather buy another good quality batterred stock and wait for it to go right back up than holding Asian TV and hoping it goes up again becos everything looks bad for AsianTV and i think it will end up like Hyflux. I using Tuan Sing as an example. Personally I vested in ESR Reits. NTA 49 cents, share price 49 cents. Singapore 4th largest industrial reits. Every quarter gives around 1.03 cents dividend. yield is 8%. So let say switch from AsianTV to ESR Reits at 49 cents. Every year u get around 4 to 5 cents dividend. 10 years later u already double ur capital aka 49 cents + 40+ cents dividend and ESR has room for share price appreciation. AsianTV i feel is simply too risky already. Just my own opinion... for those holding AsianTV and afraid of the share price dropping non stop, can consider switching to ESR Reits or other good quality battered property stocks.

yup what u say is true though.. for oil/gas, their assets hard to sell in a bad market.. which normal person like us will want to buy ship vessels even if it is dirt cheap.. property are more liquidable than oil/gas assets.. property counters in singapore generally are lowly valued far below their NAV, cos the sentiment towards this sector is bad for the past few years.. so u may take many years to see sentiment return.. the best ideal case will be a property counter that has quite a good healthy balance sheet of cash, and little debt.. high debt means u need to pay tonnes of interest, and in the current situation where interest rates are rising, it' s not going to be good for debt heavy companies.. just dont like the super high debt that tuan sing has personally, and it dont give high dividend..

tuan sing got rather high debt.. 1.6billion debt with 136mil cash.. i dont think it pays good dividend.. NAV may be high, but not sure if will fetch the value as per NAV if it does liquidate.. this few years we have our oil/gas sector not doing well and many companies having high NAV end up not able to liquidate their assets when they having problem paying debts.. dont rely too heavily on NAV figures, cos most may not get that equivalent amount of cash when liquidate

oh ok.. in this case perhaps the share price will rise to 17 cents BUT the 0.3 cents dividend  bad news will be the dampener.. especially IF they annouce further drop from 0.3 to 0.1 for example  due to sudden rapid rising interest rate and that higher interest rate translate to even more debt. Right now they are  projecting their 0.3 cents dividend based on the current interest rate trend. What if there is a sudden acceleration of interest rate hike?? then they may end up like Hyflux.. too risky i feel
