In its latest annual report, Singtel said that digital and information and communications technology (ICT) businesses now contribute to some 24 per cent of group revenue, with cyber revenues amounting to more than S$530 million in fiscal 2018. But the rate of data consumption is so high these days that price fixing will cause outrage. If you are holding on to any Telco stock you need to ask yourself if you don't mind paying more for your data plans. If you don't, then who will?

But i think fair value will still end up at about $2.50-$2.80 even after factoring in double digit contractions in data yields from the Singapore market. Singtel has to up its game and improve its aftersales support, custoemr service etc if it still wants a strong chance of being the dominant market leader. But my view is that it will stabilise in a few years through a normalised pricing environment or end up like Grab and Uber situation where the firm with the upper hand acquires the weaker competitor. Secondly, while you are right to say the likelihood of dividends increasing are slim given the headwinds in Singapore and payout ratio at 73% which is on the high range for their guidance of " 60-75%" , only 30%of net profit is from Singapore and while the India situation may not be good atm, CEO says it situation will ease off in the future.
