iFast net profit up 46.3% y-o-y in 4QFY2024, digital bank turns profitable
 
iFast Corporation has posted 46.3% higher net profit of $19.28 million for 4QFY2024 ended Dec 31, 2024, on the back of a 26.7% increase in the gross revenue to $104.14 million.
 
iFast&rsquo s UK-based digital bank, iFast Global Bank (iGB), turned profitable for the first time during the quarter, recording a profit of $0.3 million in 4QFY2024 compared to a loss of $2.57 million in 4QFY2023. 
 
iFast acquired the digital bank in March 2022, and the group calls the turnaround &ldquo a major achievement&rdquo .
 
The group&rsquo s assets under administration (AUA) grew 26.2% y-o-y to $25.01 billion as at Dec 31, 2024, achieving another record AUA level, which was mainly driven by net inflows of $3.30 billion for the whole of 2024, says the company on Feb 12.
 
For the full year, iFast achieved a record performance in AUA, gross revenue, net revenue and net profit. In FY2024, iFast&rsquo s net revenue increased 53.6% y-o-y to $248.38 million while net profit increased 135.7% y-o-y to $66.63 million.
 
For the final dividend for FY2024, iFast&rsquo s directors have proposed a dividend of 1.6 cents per ordinary share, up from 1.4 cents this time last year. 
 
The proposed final dividend will be subject to approval by shareholders at the company&rsquo s annual general meeting, to be held on April 28. 
 
Looking forward into 2025, the group expects to achieve further progress in its various business segments. &ldquo The group expects to continue to grow the AUA of its wealth management platform business, which will drive further growth in revenues and profitability. In addition, the group expects iFast Global Bank to build upon its profitable 4QFY2024 and achieve a full-year of profitability in 2025.&rdquo
 
With regard to the Hong Kong ePension division, the group expects further growth as onboarding rates continue to progress and the Orso business starts to contribute. &ldquo Barring unforeseen circumstances, the group expects 2025 to see robust growth rates in revenues and profitability compared to 2024,&rdquo says the company.

Net profit jumped 46.3% y/y to SGD19.28m on the back of the 26.7% gain in total revenue to SGD104.1m. Overall, FY24 results exceeded expectations, surpassing revenue projections by 2% and net profit by 10%.

A final DPS of 1.60Scts (1.40Scts in 4Q23) was declared.

 

iFAST Global Bank achieved profitability in 4Q24,  reporting net profit of SGD 0.3m. This was driven by an 182.6% y/y surge in customer deposits to SGD 1.01 bn, increased foreign exchange conversion activity, leading to higher fee income, and higher usage of remittance services. This resulted in robust revenue growth, with gross revenue increasing 163.7% y/y to SGD 17.2m. 

 

Hong Kong business exceeded projections for FY24 expecting further growth for ePension division.  iFAST' s Hong Kong business significantly exceeded FY24 projections, achieving HKD 866m in gross revenue (8.3% above guidance) and HKD 309m in profit before tax (23.6% above projections). 2025 guidance remains unchanged. Continued growth is anticipated for the Hong Kong ePension division, driven by ongoing onboarding and the launch of the ORSO business.

 

Record high AUA of SGD25.01bn, +26.2% y/y.  AUA as at end December 2024 reached SGD25.01 bn, +26.2% y/y. AUA growth was primarily driven by SGD3.30 bn in net inflows, up 63.2% y/y.

  • AUA Growth:  Targets to reach SGD100 billion AUA by 2028-2030, leveraging a scalable wealth management platform and profitable global digital bank. 
  • iFAST Global Bank Profitability:  Achieve full-year profitability in 2025, continuing to enhance digital banking services. 
  • ePension Success:  Successfully deliver ePension services, and scaling resources as the business expands, with ORSO (Occupational Retirement Scheme Ordinance) business starting to contribute.
  • Develop innovative fintech services,  including payment solutions and a global bond marketplace (Bondsupermart), to complement existing digital banking and wealth management platforms.


 

Raised FY25-26F earnings by c.10% to reflect stronger AUA growth and higher contribution from iFAST Global Bank.  We have raised earnings by c.10% each for FY25F and FY26F as we now assume higher AUA growth assumption of 20% per annum for both years, vs 15% previously. CGSI expects &lsquo positive share price movement&rsquo for iFast after 4QFY2024 earnings beat

CGS International Research expects " positive share price movement" for iFast when the market opens this morning, after the Mainboard-listed wealth management platform operator posted an earnings beat for 4QFY2024 ended Dec 31, 2024 yesterday evening. 

CGSI' s last target price on iFast was $9.50 with an " add" call. CGSI analysts will likely update their estimates in a new report after iFast' s results briefing later this morning. 

iFast recorded 4QFY2024 patmi of $19.3 million, up 15% q-o-q and up 46% y-o-y. This was 10% above CGSI' s already-bullish forecasts, and 17% above consensus estimates.

The company also declared an interim dividend of 1.6 cents per share for 4QFY2024, up from 1.4 cents this time last year. This brings full-year dividend to $5.90 per share, up from $4.80 in FY2023.

While 4QFY2024 net revenues were stable q-o-q across geographies, the beat was due to a combination of lower-than-expected other operating expenses (opex) and taxes, which came in at 21% in FY2024, below CGSI' s expected 23%. 

The lower opex stemmed from the absence of impairment losses on investments in financial assets y-o-y, as well as a reversal of foreign exchange effects.

Separately, iFast' s assets under administration (AUA) grew 26% y-o-y to $25 billion as at end-2025. iFast now targets $100 billion in AUA by 2028 to 2030, later than just 2028 previously.

iFast' s Hong Kong profit before tax was stable q-o-q. Its operations here comprise its platform business and its ePension division, where it has built the digital infrastructure for Hong Kong' s pension system. 

One area of this is launch of the Orso platform, which iFast has delayed to 2Q2025 from 1Q2025 previously.

" The division is currently preparing for integration with a client. There are preparations for a potential collaboration with a partner for its pension business in Macau," says CGSI. 

Over in iFast' s digital banking business, iFast Global Bank reached breakeven in 4QFY2024 as targeted, recording $0.3 million in profit before tax in 4QFY2024.

iFast attributed the stronger performance to rising net interest income (NII) as deposits crossed $1 billion in 4QFY2024, up from $359 million in 4QFY2023.

iFast' s losses in China narrowed to $1.1 million in 4QFY2024 from $1.4 million in 3QFY2024 and $1.9 million in 4QFY2023 on the back of a more cost-conscious approach. AUA in China grew 17% y-o-y to $408 million in FY2024.

iFast shares closed 11 cents higher, or 1.46% up, at $7.65 on Feb 12. iFast shares have fallen 0.65% over the past year.
