Personally, I think they should not have wasted so much money on RWS 2.0, just to secure a duopoly commitment. Let a 3rd casino come in, and it may benefit all actually. That said, I do think 2025 and onwards will be a brighter picture, as there are additional attractions coming out soon, that will boost new foreign and even local visitorship to RWS. They have also closed some hotels for refurbishment, possibly in keeping with relaunching them with the new attractions, to capture greater revenues. Lets give them a chance to see what will happen. | ||||

Bought this pre-covid and barely net positive after adding dividends ... sigh. Since 2020, rev has grown from $1b to $2.5b and profit has grown 7x from $100m+ to $700m+. Just be patient I guess. |

GS is a gaming stock and it is also a retail stock. Fundamentals are important but momentum and plays underpinned its movement. Remember when GS bid for the Japan casino? There was a run up until the newly elected Japanese Mayor cancelled the project. And this was followed by a string of negative news such as warning to Chinese tourists to gamble overseas, apart from Macau. And not forgetting the oil spills that may have affected businesses. Recently, the negative news about Malaysia Genting and the soon to be Thailand casino may have weigh on the minds of investors, therefore outweighing growth prospects.

Despite hoping for the end of the year run, GS share price is falling again after hitting high of 0.90 on 7 Oct, 2024. GS is probably affected by Genting Malaysia share price decline, even though both are different families but share the same father. The news that Thailand is planning for a casino soon does not help the cause either. That is because it is likely a Thailand led conglomerate will bid and win. If that is the case expect more competition then. | ||||
