With the benefit of 1H26 results, I would love to hear old Ren come out to say something about the share price again. He was complaining and lamented that YZJM should be trading at $0.90 at least but yet the company dare to tell market it has a drop of profit yoy of 29%! It has last bought back it shares at $0.58 and will it act again now that the share price is trading at $0.57? What the market has been told is that a $500m sales has been lined up for the next 3 years but how much is the profit out of this $500m? If it is 10% then it is only $50m over 3 years, hardly to set any pulse racing. The market has high hope and pushed up the price to as high as $0.66 on results day but the moment the results were released, we all know the share price is going to tank. Now it has been 2 days in a row so I guess it is good time to hear from old Ren again with his view of $0.90 at least share price. Does he still think the same?

As I said & many as well, patient is the key to success for this counter. 2nd half results probably will be like 1st half. We will see from 2027 onwards. So, now is accumulation whenever possible.   |

Just stay sideline, likely to have further downsides as YJZ Maritime only recover end of next year ? can buy if you have the patience to wait and have no other place to invest.

think this will be range 57 to 62 for a while. any share buy hack.  any long term charter, any new build, or new build sold helps.  will get better with time as ship complete build and deliver.   |

The recent drop doesn' t necessarily change the longer-term story. For a company like this,  accumulation can take time, especially after a strong run-up. I would not expect it to immediately rebound just because the fundamentals remain attractive. DYDD   |

Ho of DBS maintains target price of 88 cents for YZJ Maritime

Ho Pei Hwa of DBS Group Research has kept her bullish " buy" call and 88 cents target price on Yangzijiang Maritime Development, noting how this integrated maritime investment platform has in place multiple earnings drivers.

YZJ Maritime, spun off Yangizijiang Financial Holding, which was itself in turn spun off Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, is headed directly by executive chairman Ren Yuanlin, who was instrumental in growing the Yangzijiang " ecosystem" . Ho describes YZJ Maritime as an " asset-light, fully integrated maritime investment platform" that operates a cycle-resilient model combining shipping, which helps generate charter income ship financing, which gives interest income shipbuilding and fee income from shipbroking. Ho points out that YZJ Maritime leverages partnerships with operators and shipyards rather than owning heavy fixed assets, enabling flexible capital deployment and optimised capital allocation across cycles, as shipping and shipbuilding tend to be counter-cyclical and can help smooth earnings volatility. In the coming few years, she expects the company to enjoy double-digit earnings growth of between 15 and 20%, " if not higher" , from capital deployment and industry tailwinds. Ho believes that growth will be driven primarily by accelerating capital deployment into higher-yielding maritime investments and newbuild projects, predominantly tankers and bulk carriers. " Structural tailwinds remain supportive, including IMO-driven decarbonisation requirements and the replacement of an aging global fleet averaging between 14 to 16 years, which are fuelling a new shipbuilding cycle. " Further upside could come from balance sheet leveraging and scaling of maritime funds, enhancing returns and earnings visibility," she adds. At 61 cents, YZJ Maritime trades at around 0.9x FY2026 P/B and 10x FY2026 PE, which Ho views as undemanding relative to its growth outlook. As capital deployment accelerates and ROE expands from 6% towards 8&ndash 10%, Ho sees scope for multiple re-rating. She is keeping her target price of 88 cents on which is based on 1.4x P/B multiple , which implies around 17x FY2026 PE, in line with global peers, supported by its asset-light model, earnings growth visibility, and improving dividend outlook of between 3 to 4%. For her, key risks include slower-than-expected capital deployment affecting yields, cyclical nature of shipping and shipbuilding. However, Ho believes that YZJ Maritime&rsquo s fully integrated maritime investment significantly mitigates such volatility. She warns too of execution risks around newbuild projects such as cost overruns, delivery delays and counterparty risks in finance leases reducing profitability potential geopolitical and regulatory risks. YZJ Maritime Development shares, as at 2.18 pm on Aug 11, is changing hands at 66 cents each, up 5.65% thus far today, and is up 3.97% year to date. |

Yangzijiang Maritime&rsquo s Total Income Increases 49% in 1H2026 Growing Pipeline of Newbuild Maritime Assets for Greater Value Creation Opportunities
Commenting on the results for 1H2026, Executive Chairman and CEO of Yangzijiang Maritime, Mr. Ren Yuanlin said, &ldquo Since our listing in November, we have been building a stronger foundation to enhance our earnings capacity through the strategic expansion of our Maritime Business, steadily increasing our pipeline of newbuild vessels orders and reinforcing our proven, repeatable asset-light business model. Given the two to three year shipbuilding cycle, there is a natural transition period before our maritime investments are realised, during which upfront capital commitments and expenses are required.

Underpinned by deep maritime expertise and established global network, our strategy of entering into sale contracts early enables us to lock in reasonable capital gain returns, while providing earnings visibility ahead as the vessels are progressively delivered accordingly. Supported by a disciplined capital recycling strategy and a strong balance sheet, we aim to expand both our recurring operating income base and capital gains returns ahead, creating long-term value for our shareholders.&rdquo

The 5.5-cent drop today is starting to make YZJ Maritime more interesting for adding,  YZJ Maritime was about  S$0.595, down 7.75%, following the 1H results.    Why the market is selling The headline 1H numbers were mixed:
But I see a longer-term positive The important part is that YZJ Maritime is  building its maritime asset base. It added 10 vessels and now has  53 vessels in its order book.    It also has a  zero-borrowing/net-cash balance sheet, which gives it considerable flexibility to acquire more vessels.    |

in spring one plant, summer to grow, autumn to harvest and winter to rest. yzjm set of results is like the cycle. it is now in early summer. a growing state. surely what is planted will reap good harvest. it will grow will time.   imagine 12 vlcc each let said can sell 135m. 12x135=1620. 15% profit will be 243m over 3 years.  many other ships. what they doing is like early days real estate developers.  buy land build, pile sell and  lock in profit.  reporting of profit will be after build, delivery etc. not a immediate sudden win stock. but with patient and time is high probability win. you want sure win 80win/20lost with time or 20win/80lost sudden burst? short term the shorts will rule. but as time past they will cover and turn. when ? who knows. they control the time, we small retail just used spare money buy low, hold and sell high later. dyodd |

Agree with Volvo. If without sale of any vessels and yet, with $500m sales expected throughout the next 3 years, YZJM already can generate profits of almost $45m for 1H26, then investors can expect much higher profits will the sales started to take place. But market is unpreditable and often driven by sentiment so let' s see how market react.  | ||

Diving even deeper into the P& L, specifically on the Income details, at operating level (Pg 22~23) :- The description of Income mentioned in the section include :- 1.  Interest income from Cash mgt products, FD, Pte Credits, FVTPL assets held 2.  MF related :- Chartering income, interest income from financial leases 3.  FVTPL changes (gain/loss), gain/loss from derivative financial instruments (likely due to hedging) 4.  Govt rebates, GST remission, compensation from legal settlements This is the baseline total income, still growing, and are derived mainly, and only, from Interest, dividends and Chartering incomes on all existing investments. Note that there is no mention of profit derived from the sales of any vessels. YMD might have earlier on various occasions in the past months announced the sales of certain vessels but these vessels are still building and not yet delivered to realise the accounting profit. Going forward with RenYL actively focus on cutting deals to sell vessels, we could expect to see the P& L entry of these recurring sales of vessels profit to come in progressively to very significantly bump up the baseline income as and when YMD delivers the completed vessels to its clients. |

Looking deeper into the P& L ... 1.    OP (operating profit) 1h26 $48.9m vs 1h25 $41.6m 2a.  Assoc 1h26 $7m vs 1h25 $$14.6m 2b.  Other gains (exchange) 1h26 -$56m vs 1h25 +$16.1m. 2c.  Assoc + Other gains : 1h26 $1.4m vs 1h25 $30.7m, difference -$29.3m (negative impact) At operating profit level $48.9 vs $41.6m, 1H26 OP was up ~18% against 1H25 inspite of the significant increase in MF operating cost. This performance is good and matter, because this shows that the mgt is running the core maritime biz very well to ensure the growth in income generation can outpace the increase in cost so as to generate a 18% increase in OP which is important. Below operating level, the coy definitely cannot control how well its asscociates are doing, and certainly not God to control the translation exchange rate on its financial asset revaluation for financial reporting. Assoc + Other gains negatively impacted the 1h26 PBT (profit before tax) by $29.3m, which was the key reason for the 1h26 NPAT to decline to $44.3m, not the increase the MF operating cost. YMD core maritime biz is still solidly growing.   |
