I hv mentioned many times , Hyflux is Singapore strategy water treatment company and is very important to the country. You want to see the country strategy collapse or fall into foreign hand ? You duno our neighbor , the old fox Mahathir is waiting and hopping to see Singapore fall and fail and dry without water supply

So can it be said that Hyflux was the one who contributed to the genco industry eventual oversupply since govt tender didn' t call for such, and hence wasn' t in the govt' s overall planning for the electricity wholesale market? OL's explanation to the media was that she felt that there was demand for such 'value add' services in the municipal market...but as we know it now, there has been over supply in the market. The fact that Hyflux is the only one, among the 8 or 9 bidders, to offer electricity generation, despite being a small and new player to the electricity generation business, shows how big a risk Hyflux was taking, knowing well that it could go into a deep debt position

So 6% compared to fixed deposit of less than 1% is really very enticing.. So i think Greed overcame those investors... Asking tax payers to bail them out is not fair to those  investors who were prudent and did NOT succumb to greed and did not buy into hyflux.
