SIIC has been quite under the radar. With the deluge of funds flooding in the market and tech/finance stocks saturating, it might be worthwhile to take a look at utlities related shares. In 2016, Shanghai Industrial Group bought in 350,000,000 placement shares at $0.63. Lets take a look at Q32016 restuls Revenue - 394,861,000 Net Profit - 110107000 EPS - RMB4.17 cents Compare this to Q32020 Revenue - 1506532000 Net Profit - 231280000 EPS - RMB 6.28cents Interestingly, Shanghai Industrial Group is the largest shareholder now with 48% stake. Clearly, EPS now has improved compared to 2016, when placement shares were bought in at $0.63. Share price now is trading at $0.19. If I were Shanghai Industrial Group, what would i do? Even if i offer a buyout offer at 150% of current price, that would be only $0.28, still way cheaper than the $0.63 bought in 2016. |

The trough valuation should serve as some form of support but the high debt and negative free cash flow have always been concerns for the water stocks. CEWL saw a pop recently but I guess this sector is quite undervalued. Question is where' s the catalyst or it will just be a case of fund flows to target the undervalued (backed by decent yield of > 5%)

Potentially.. Finally someone post here.. Vested at 0.181 months ago. Wanted to add more when its 0.173 but didnt due to its low vol trade. Once investors cant find any more value play, such value play like SIIC will get notice. Short summary -> Utility Play -> Low P/B -> Near all time low share price -> 5% dividend pa -> High Debt. -> this is also one point I dont like. Thats why it only take less than 5% of my portfolio

SIIC Environment changes CEO on ' re-designation of work' at the top
MAINBOARD-LISTED SIIC Environment Holdings has changed its chief executive officer " due to re-designation of work" , the board announced on Friday.
China-based executive director Yang Jianwei, who has served as general manager of SIIC Management (Shanghai) Co since December 2018, is the new CEO.
The board said SIIC Environment will not ink a service contract with Mr Yang, 50, but he is subject to retirement by rotation, and can stand for re-election at general meetings.
His annual salary of S$50,000 was determined by his duties, qualifications and experience and prevailing market conditions, the board added.
Mr Yang replaces Xu Xiaobing, 55, who was the CEO from November 2018.
Mr Xu stays on as an executive director and member of the risk and investment management committee, and will continue to sit on the board of company subsidiaries.
He has confirmed that he has no disagreement with the board, and that there are no other matters related to his departure that need to be flagged to shareholders or the Singapore and Hong Kong bourses, SIIC Environment added.
