In fact, if msia approve more IR in msia, it can be a boost to genting m business.
More tourists flock to say langkawi, iskandar, they will still go to genting m for : Coolness in hot climate msia World class theme park Imagine genting M owns an IR in iskandar Johor say with safari theme park. Tourists go for it. They have a linkage shuttle buses for guests between highlands and iskandar. Win Win situation . Big boost to genting m revenue, and in turn big boost to msia govt coffers. Msia govt needs to boost up their coffers. Remember, Those who do well economically, Will do well politically If msia PM wants to rule msia like dr m, or longer than dr m, msia economic rise is very crucial. If he fails to realize this, he may risk failing politically.

Of couse the probability is low.
But do remember, 2017 is the starting year our Govt CAN call for the 3rd IR license. Now our govt needs to boost our economy. So never say never. Again though probability low due to "geopolitics", and 3rd IR may take another 5 years or so to start business and competition, such announcement will have some impact on genting S share price. As for msia having more IR, again, never say never. Msia PM already hinted before when he visited langkawi. More IR in msia may be ok news for genting msia. Yes they lost on monopoly, but they gain on potential new license on new territories. E.g. langkawi, port dickson, iskandar...etc Macau stanley ho gave up on his monopoly. Philippines there are various major players already. It would only amaze me if there is STILL MONOPOLY BUSINESS in this world. If monopoly still exists, something is just not so....you know Who knows ? Japan may say to Msia : I give you 1 IR license in Japan, you give me 1 IR license in Msia. Japan will SURELY award 1 IR license to US GLP company.
