And all or nearly all of them advise avoiding overly-high dividend counters such as APTT, LMIRT, HPHT and Sabana Reit.  There is a good reason why their dividends are so high ----- because investors demand higher dividends for the higher risks these counters carry. In this current market turmoil, there are now quite a number of good reits that pay 7% dividend as their share price has tumbled together with the rest of the world. So this is a godsend" opportunity to invest in fundamentally strong reits that now pays more dividends (1% to 3% more) than they did during normal times.  Brianfoo      ( Date: 19-Nov-2018 14:11) Posted: Yes all the way am investing for dividends but this asia tv pay trust is too much for me to take. Am now looking for more than 8 % yield so at the very least wont wait so long to recover... have never intend to gamble or specualte yes i admit am greedy for the asia tv dividend so well this thing has happened so nothing much to say... x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Instead of gambling away the rest of your money through trading/speculating and overly-high-div-low-quality stocks, instead invest in a few sustainable-div-fundamentally-high-quality-stocks. The idea is to continue to receive good-quality div while waiting for world stock markets to stablise and recover over the years. When we are invested in fundamentally good quality stocks that provide us with constant good income dividends, we are less swayed by the market cycle fluctuations.  This is esp. so in this market condition where many excellent strong stocks/reits are trading at distressed prices caused by fear and greed.        Brianfoo      ( Date: 19-Nov-2018 12:11) Posted: Almost all my money whipped out just like that. He' s one of the shrewdest income investors in SG who blogs.  Investors in many stock forums in SG talks about him. Even in overseas forums. Other than his blogspot, he posts on his FB blog as well (his FB link below).  He had posted about your query on his FB blog that' s how I knew what you said in SJ here is real. On 2 Nov, he blogged that he had sold off First Reit, citing increasing risks (read his blogspot dated 2 Nov 18). I had learnt this painful lesson many years ago. There are many SG dividend investors who blogs. Every real investor/financial advisers esp long-term divident investors/income investors will tell you to reduce risk by investing in a few counters.
