Yea
I would imagine CPI will be 8% or above which would drop Dow and other indices by 1000 points and relatively - a print of below 8% especially if 7.5% or below would result in a massive US rally Can go either way

Excellent points, Adrianinsing. Not one or two errors. But so many mistakes. This shows bad mgmt. SHs paid a heavy price for the errors.

10 Main Errors ( of many others ) made by SATS management so far
1. Somehow allowed Bloomberg to get leaked info before announced 2. Unrealistic tentative rights price at $2.79 3. Keep apologising in media statements instead of getting it correct first time 4. Buying WFS when no money 5. Relying too heavily on shareholders to pay for it 6. Not getting house in order first (as mentioned correctly below) 7. Management not yet offering to buy more shares themselves 8. Buying WFS at a time of possible recession and global instability 9. Waiting too long to announce rights price and quantity 10. Allowing some BB to ? play ? the share price during this period

Thank you, Tigerplay, for your advice. I sold this counter in sep 22 and was monitoring and planning to buy back. But because of so many uncertainties I dont intend to buy in the near future. :Perhaps after RI and loan details are announced

Set the house in order. Make an operating profit. Strengthen the balance sheet. And pay dividends after 3 years of no dividends during pandemic. Prior to pandemic, this counter provided good dividend yields. Before setting house in order, leapt into acquisition... with escalating interest rate and threatening recession... |

Unlike you, I dont think TH sees SATS like it sees SIA. SATS does not have the reputation and global reach as SIA But let' s wait. Time will tell

To be fair I think in SATS case slightly different as Temasek doing it for more for Singapore by supporting SATS like they did with SIA than trying to profit from it and anyway any profit would go back to Singapore- not sure on FTX though - why Temasek invested in FTX is beyond me

why shd temask use tax payers' money to support SATS? SATS is a public listed company. SATS SHs shd take the risk, not singaporean tax payers
