It looks like SINGTEL GROUP is losing money .

Bharti Airtel Ltd.' s fourth-quarter net loss widened more than expected due to an exceptional charge the telecom took on the payment of regulatory dues to the Indian government.

Bharti swung to a net loss of 52.37 billion rupees ($692.63 million) from a net profit of INR1.07 billion in the same period a year earlier, it said late Monday.

The results compared with the INR854 million net loss projected by analysts polled by FactSet.

Revenue, however, rose 15% to INR237.22 billion, backed by growth in mobile data traffic

During the quarter, the Indian company took an exceptional charge of INR70.04 billion on account of a reassessment of regulatory costs.

Late last year, India' s top court had ruled that telecoms operating in the country need to pay the government in a dispute over licensing fees, which hurt many companies including Bharti.

Airtel has recognised an amount of Rs. 56.4 billion (S$1.1 billion) as an exceptional charge
on account of reassessment of regulatory cost based on a recent judgement on one time spectrum charge related matter.
Singtel will recognise its share of the above provision, amounting to S$357 million (S$ 232 million on post-tax basis) as an exceptional item ,

 Alert Admin 		Why im avoiding telco (especially singtel) is that it will need to invest a lot in 5g infrastructure and given that its so competitive now with MVNOs, i doubt telcos can pass costs to consumers. Its similar to airlines. Last time no budget airlines to push down ticket prices. Similarly, telcos has to compete with MVNOs now

 Alert Admin 		nobody knows... but today' s price if you hold it for long term definately you will make. It just depends how much is your risk appetite. 

Worldwide is going contactless and digital, I believe with the inclusion of the Digital banking license (*If they get it), we will be seeing much higher share prices in the long run.

 Alert Admin 		It sadden me to comment on SIA .....Covid19 cost the business to standdown is understandable ....BUT hedge oil for 5yrs resulting in great lost ??? 
( someone inside need to be FIRED ....which other airline do that for 5 yrs ??? )  

As for Singtel ....its business is still on going .  Yes still affected . So if dividend is tobe cut await the coming result 
So its not 15th May u once announced ....let hope its this month

However,  will they cut this full yr dividend or cld reduce it ( more possible) ...is everyone guess. 
Certainly I hv mentioned several time.....5G investment n even the digital banking licence are all going to draw cash before any $$ can come in

Singtel Dividend Policy:
Singtel is committed to delivering dividends that increase over time with growth in underlying earnings, (a)
while maintaining an optimal capital structure and investment grade credit ratings. (b)
(a) How much final dividend can be declared ? It will depend on the bottom line . Total dividend of 17.5c sustainable ???
(b)Moody' s and Fitch lowered their outlook on Singtel from " stable" to " negative"   in March, while S& P' s did so in July 2019.
