Singapore is made of people and that is our resrouce , we must innovate adapt or risk getting left behind . At least I see the effort behind telcos trying to break that bubble , do I as an investor give it a chance ? I use Google meet and Zoom more frequently. I hardly use up my telco talk time. If you just study one telco metrics, the ARPU, you will notice that it is trending down for the last few years for all telcos. Even though, telcos reports higher number is subscribers, the ARPU is going down. Also note that the number of fixed lines, which are their cash generator is also going down. Decades ago, SingTel charged us so exorbitant rates for overseas calls. Now, we can video call to anyone on the globe almost with negligible cost. Wifi is changing how telcos earn. Telcos are in a sunset industry. SingTel associates abroad that used to be their cash generator will eventually be negative equity. Bharti now extracts millions from SingTel in terms of provisions. Above is my 2 cents worth of opinion. Your opinion may differ, but do make time to ponder. Look at their numbers. Numbers don?t lie.
