Oil was up Friday morning in Asia, and is set to end the week on a high note. Energy companies began shutting down production in the Gulf of Mexico ahead of a potential hurricane forecast to hit on the weekend, increasing concerns about the near-term supply disruption.

Pray for everyone to be safe. Whether YOU want to capitialise on any factor is up to you, for me, I just hope that the oil platform workers all make it to safety, and that property and loss of lives to the people living near the Gulf of Mexico coast in USA will be minimal. Katrina really caused a lot of damage previously.
So let's hope the hurricane can skip the densely populated areas and downgrade to a tropical storm instead of hurricane.

Hurricane alert ??? Read some chatter that A storm brewing in the Caribbean Sea is forecast to grind through the main oil-producing region of the Gulf. It could become a major hurricane ahead of landfall on the central Gulf Coast, the National Hurricane Center said. Hurricanes with winds of up to 111 miles (178 km) per hour are classified as major and can bring devastating damage onshore. Could lead to spike in oil prices if the hurricane turns out to be bad???? | ||||
