Market psychology of FEAR and GREED!   Weak holders all but kena weeded out.   Have to put my hat   off to the BBs.   They have managed to collect 77 million GLP shares on the cheap!👍   |

Self-inflicted in the first place, how difficult can it be to recover? They just want to jiak the retail investors they will not do it to the extent of hurting their own interest.

Actually even for long term investor, to get the best profit out of the market, it does not mean that you hold on to the stock til donkey years. Sell when you reach your exit point, you can always enter later when it reach you entry point again. For me, sometime my previous exit point is lower than my current entry point. Some may say that I been sell low buy high. But this could due to market condition or the changes of the company performance. For GLP, I been purchasing and selling numerous times. With the same capital, I make more return by trading rather than just sit on it. Take note: not asking people to sell now or follow my tractic. In fact, I find that I clear my holding too soon in the morning, but just follow the selling price I set when I purchase my last batch of GLP. Now I will just sit at the side line and monitor. |

BBs are involved in the plunge because they know that the only way for them to accumulate more GLP shares is to scare the shxx out of the retail investors especially those who bought late at 2.7x. They know that it will take some time for any deal to complete but they also know that they cannot accumulate more shares now that it is closer to the finishing line unless they employ the scare tactics. It works perfectly for them today. Just imagine, by throwing a few millions shares they can get back tens of millions in return at a discount to the previous day closing price. They are no doubt the winners of the day.

jeremy, seems like you trade with fundamentals and technical for point of entry. Do you consider flash news or social media news as a reference for entry/exit as well?

Yes. Book value does not change. Fundamentals do not change even if a take over offer is not in the cards eventually. But, we need to note that the current interest in this company from the market is based on the prospect of a favourable take over outcome. For early starters who have invested at undervalued prices in GLP, it is not a concern even if a favourable take over does not materialise eventually. Because it will be business as usual for GLP even if the share price should come down a fair bit due to any market disappointment and reaction. However for those who buy at higher prices betting on a favourable take over, then we need to question whether at current price valuations, is it worthwhile to buy GLP shares? I shall not comment on the current share price whether is it worthwhile to buy its shares now given the fundamentals and intrinsic value of GLP. One should do his due diligence to arrive at his conclusion. However, it seems that the current interest in GLP is more anchored on its potential take over which could raise its share price. Wonder if it is no favourable outcome   or less than favourable outcome at the end, will it still justify buying its share price at current levels given the fundamentals and intrinsic value of this company? I guess different people who entered GLP even at current levels of its share price will have different reasons and objectives in buying its shares depending whether one is a long term investor or short term trader. However, everyone no matter what investment agenda and objective is still subjected to the eventual news and how the share price will move especially if it is a large movement in price. Even a long term investor is not spared of the behaviour of the market price movement if he has invested in an undervalued company. If a company continues to be undervalued in price for a very long time, it could mean time opportunity cost for the value investor. Look at a current example like Global Premium Hotels which is an undervalued stock but most investors who have invested in it at undervalued prices hoping for the share price to be eventually priced correctly to a reasonable fair value to its book value will be disappointed after holding its shares for quite a number of years to face an undesirable privatisation offer price. It could mean the capital is just making a meagre or no returns for some of these investors over a period of a few years. Few years is quite a lot of time wasted especially for investors who have invested with large capital. The capital could have been better employed elsewhere. In conclusion, there is no sure thing in investment as it always carries risk especially risk which is beyond the control of an investor like market price risk and company specific risk due to certain corporate actions or changing fundamentals.

My US contact, a former staff of (medal + lion + very fun) told me he just input all the available info (including the weather in Shanghai) into the re-modelled Super Computer and this is what he got :
It (the Super Computer) says : Chinese 志 在 必 得 Hearts different feelings and goals Analytics Possibilities : 1. Go thru formal bidding processes 2. If 1. fails, then 2. accumulate as much as possible...if possible close to 29.99%... Once passes 30% stakes, make declare to the world hostile takeover bid at all cash very hars to refuse price bid..... I not sure as it is a Super Computer. If ( medal + lion + fun) knows about GLP current stories, they will sure know how to play to win. |

Actually, everyone else, especially the BBs, know that the bids received are still non-binding, and it will take some time for these bidders to study the financials and offer binding bids. Hence they should have factored in a few months to hold the stock, That' s why it surprises me to know that these BBs are involved in the sudden plunge of the share price after the review update. They should know better, or is it a miscalculation on their part? I think by now, we all know that GLP is a company that likes to keep information close to its chest, reveals nothing and covers its rear very well until it is absolutely sure. So future updates are just paper exercises until a final decision is made.  All we can do is wait, and hope BBs take pity on small retailers and do not create panic attacks now and then.
