Interesting, Kimhengs' management seem to have high confidence it will turn around.... 1) It had been paying div since it was listed in 2014 despite poor business condition and loss making. 2) company shares buy back, CEO also market purchase. 3) Acquisition of vessal 4) secured contracts Based on latest FR, it left $5.13m cash, $29.4m debts, of which $11.5m payable within a year. Last quarter still in red, loss of $8m+ ( $5.4m - impairment loss for property, plant and equipment and lower provision for doubtful debt) Im thinking if there will be fund raising. Not vested. |

SINGAPORE (Mar 1): Kim Heng Offshore & Marine, the integrated offshore & marine (O&M) value chain services provider, says it has purchased a 6,000BHP anchor handling tug/supply (AHTS) vessel for about $0.7 million.
The vessel, named Pacific 8, will be renamed as Bridgewater 80 and join Kim Heng?s growing fleet of AHTS vessels upon being fully operational in May 2018. Measuring 60 by 16 metres, the approximately 70 tons bollard pull AHTS will be used to perform tow services and other offshore-related activities. The group says it also aims to deploy the vessel for long term charters as and when opportunities arise. Bridgewater 80 will join Kim Heng?s three newly-acquired AHTS vessels ? Bridgewater 130, Bridgewater 131 and Bridgewater 132 ? which have been deployed, and successfully performed rigs towage for various leading oil majors and drilling contractors in Brunei and Malaysia. Kim Heng says the acquisition is line with its direction to further expand and improve its vessel owning and operating capabilities to offer full scale offshore activities solutions. The group adds that it is currently in the process of acquiring more vessels, to take advantage of economies of scale to improve the group?s profit margin.

I cannot control the oil prices so If oil prices plunge , so do KH . I do not have the crystal ball to foresee oil price movement but what I do have is the confidence in KH management . They have remained lean and survive the down turn in O and G . They keep enough cash to buy 3 distressed vessels from Swiber and is now adding more to expand their business . At the same time they are issuing dividends(0.07) so while holding I am getting some dividend as a bonus . Non of O and G is issuing dividends at the moment. Most importantly, it?s under the support of SAC capital . KH maybe be down now but when crude returns to $70/bbl , the prices will slowly catch up. Most importantly, the management is growing their business .
