Firstly, congratulations to those who had sold earlier today and managed to buy back cheaper.  Good for you!  As much as we love Oceanus, I know we all love making money more. Secondly, I am not going to tell you how 95% of day traders end up losing money.  Because if you&rsquo re reading this, you probably believe you&rsquo re part of the 5% like I do. Instead, I explain why I did not sell earlier, and will not be doing so. Significance of SGX Watchlist Unlike the typical post-earnings release dip seen in other companies, Oceanus is in a unique position: on SGX watchlist. This is more than just a &ldquo bad label&rdquo to get rid of. The purpose of the watchlist is to caution investors (both retail and institutional) that the company is financially shaky and run the risk of delistment (don&rsquo t be confuse with removal from watchlist!). Implications As a result, because of the regulatory policies of most FIs, investment managers are: Not allowed to invest / go long into &ldquo watchlist companies&rdquo .     Why?  Because they need to answer to their clients should the company get delisted and they lose their clients&rsquo money. Allowed to short (watchlist) companies.  This is what happened today.  The above regulatory limitation doesn&rsquo t apply to &lsquo shorting&rsquo companies.  Because any news of a potential delistment will drive the stock price a lot lower for a handsome profit! How does this affect Financial Institutions (FIs) looking to invest in Oceanus? With the stellar Q4 2020 earnings results, the exit from SGX watchlist is almost a certainty.  However, the actual filing will only take place in Q2/Q3 2021 (after satisfying Financial Exit Criteria by 15 April 2021). Thus, we are in a bit of a &ldquo no man&rsquo s land&rdquo , regulatory speaking. This makes Oceanus an interesting investment proposition for FIs (and an extremely exciting one for us as retail investors!). Essentially, FIs with less conservative regulatory policies will be the &lsquo first-movers&rsquo to invest.  I will not be surprised if some have started to deliberate doing so.  These are typically smaller accredited investors (AIs) / institutional investors (II) representing a single wealthy family / client, and are thus more nimble.  In this category, you have your single family offices, trust funds, PB accounts, etc Thereafter, with the release of audit report (on or before 15 April 2021) and formal exit from watchlist, you open up to the much larger, &lsquo second-wave&rsquo of FIs being the portfolio managers, IB, mutual funds, hedge funds, etc. Nonetheless, don&rsquo t expect the price to jump starkly upwards when they enter.  It will likely be an algorithmic purchase against any downward pressure.  And we will likely know it (if we do) from their public announcements, not the price action. In short, the flood-gates of institutional money has not swung open (yet), but just &ldquo creaked open slightly&rdquo . What does this mean for retail investors? The catch is we do not know  when  the big money will flow in.  Yes, I said &ldquo when&rdquo and not &ldquo if&rdquo .  Because of the exceedingly good Q4 2020 earnings signalling the start of a 3-year growth trajectory.  (Read my previous post.) It could be this week, it could be this month, or it could be this quarter.  All we know is that with each passing day, the likelihood gets higher.  Time is on the side of the Oceanus long-ist.  Whereas the shorts always have a deadline to cover. My plan is just to stay invested  before  the FIs come in. It is ultimately a game of probability.  Taking profits now and buying back in lower sure makes me feel like a champ.  And I applaud those who manage to do that successfully. But TA isn&rsquo t doing much for me without the big money influencing the candlesticks, so I cannot precise confidently when it would be best to buy back in.  Just look at how thin the order book is.  It doesn&rsquo t take much to move the share price either way. And so I choose to wait, and watch my portfolio dance red and celebrate CNY for me all over again. But I do so with the confidence that Oceanus just had an amazing Q4 2020, and are on track to further breakthroughs in 2021 and beyond.
