That said, normal statutory audit seldom pick up irregularities due to time pressure and partner?s desire to earn profit. You cant spend too much time to verify soemtime. Every hr is costs. Thats why big 4 is prefers to do consulting work as its more profitable. Those statutory audits for small listed compaies are slowly given to RSM and mid tier auditing firms Of coz, investors can sue EY for negligence if they suffer loss but suing by investors are rare.
