Before you dabble in the stock market, it is very important to note some of the basic expected trends of the market. This one must know. Eg: Someone buy 3.85 cd and sell 3.76 xd, he would have made 1 cent profit (exclude brokerage for simplicity) This is because this person pay 3.85 but was given a 10 cent dividend, effectively, his cost would be 3.75. That is why if he sell 3.76, he would have made 1 cent. This scenario also answer your question if a Seller sell at 3.76 xd rather than sell at 3.85 cd, he would get a better deal if he sell 3.76 (because he will collect 10 cents dividend) Hope you are clear, but be warned that the stock market is not always straightforward nor predictable. Good Luck

Hi... Can anyone explain to me what is the rationale behind ST engineering stock price suddenly dropping 10 cents today when it's going up cent by cent for the past few months?? What is the strategy of these investors who sell the stocks at such a lower price 3.76 than if they were to sell high like 3.85? | ||||

ST Eng aerospace, electronics sectors secure S$2.1b in new contracts in Q1 MON, APR 22, 2019 - 6:04 PM ST Engineering said on Monday its aerospace and electronics sectors secured new contracts worth about S$2.1 billion in total in the first quarter of 2019.  Some S$1.3 billion came from its aerospace sector which received a 10-year service agreement from a major North America operator, a long-time customer, to provide heavy maintenance checks for its entire fleet of A300 and Boeing 757. The agreement  covers over 160 wide-body and narrow-body aircraft to be serviced at the sector' s US facilities in San Antonio and Pensacola, starting in 2020. In Q1, ST Engineering' s aerospace  sector also  secured contracts from new airline customers in Africa and Europe to provide component repair services to support their Bombardier Q400. Other contracts cover engine wash and equipment leasing solutions to customers in the Middle East and Europe.  The electronics sector received S$818 million of projects, which include  building a mobile communications network for passengers on the Downtown Line 3 Extension in Singapore. Overseas, ST Engineering is also supplying an automatic fare collection system for the Bangkok MRT Gold Line, maintenance and enhancement works for the Bangkok MRT  Purple Line, an integrated supervisory control system for Wuxi' s Metro Line 3, as well as a passenger information system for Taiwan Railway Authority' s trains. https://www.businesstimes.com.sg/companies-markets/st-eng-aerospace-electronics-sectors-secure-s21b-in-new-contracts-in-q1   |

Yes, indeed. A good year for this counter. During this 12- month period, we have seen 3.2+ and 3.3+ where I believed the Long-time observers would have loaded up. I have previously started to unload gradually. Currently still balance 20k units, if good price later can sell. Otherwise will start loading up 3.6- and below again. Good Luck all, dont forget XD tomorrow.

Looks like   todays 3.88 is as good as it gets. Unable to breach 3.9 No sale, but waiting for retailers to start unloading. Next question is whether it will drop more than 10 cents tomorrow? My gut feel is quite a good chance it will.

ST Engineering unit gets US government go-ahead to buy engine parts maker SUN, APR 14, 2019 - 7:38 PM MAINBOARD-LISTED Singapore Technologies Engineering has been allowed to buy a maker of critical aeroplane engine parts from the United States&rsquo General Electric, it disclosed on Sunday. Its  US subsidiary Vision  Technologies Aerospace Incorporated obtained clearance from a US government committee to buy Maryland-based engine nacelle systems manufacturer MRA Systems, ST Engineering said. Now, as long as the rest of the conditions for the acquisition are completed or waived, the US$630 million deal - which is expected to be earnings-accretive - should close in the coming week, added ST Engineering, which is 51 per cent-owned by national investment firm Temasek Holdings. MRA Systems holds single-source contracts for both mature and next-generation nacelle programmes, including engines for Airbus&rsquo A320neo - the aircraft model that reportedly pushed US competitor Boeing to rush through the development of its ill-fated 737 Max planes. ST Engineering previously said that the acquisition would scale up its aerospace capabilities by moving it into the original equipment manufacture of high-value nacelle parts, in a hunt for new growth areas to invest in. https://www.businesstimes.com.sg/companies-markets/st-engineering-unit-gets-us-government-go-ahead-to-buy-engine-parts-maker   |

STE is one of the best, if not the best stock to invest in.  It simply keeps scooping up cash that drops from it' s super-rich neverending Money Tree.  And the amount of money dropped by this tree actually increases year after year. What is this Amazing Money Tree that never dies?    ![]() ![]()   |

Frankly, currently at 3.7+ it is very difficult for me. Too high to buy, too Low to sell. And to answer your question, realistically almost no chance for it to go below 3.6 cd. Therefore, best to go somewhere else. No fret, the market is always there.

ST Engineering to fully acquire Belgium satellite telecoms group for 250m euros WED, MAR 27, 2019 - 11:06 PM ST Engineering announced on Wednesday that it has entered into a conditional share purchase agreement to acquire 100 per cent ownership of Belgium-based satellite telecommunications firm Newtec Group for 250 million euros (S$381 million) in cash. Newtec is a technology provider in the satellite broadcast segment with unique ultra-high throughput capabilities and a strong presence in the European satellite telecommunications market, with a range of consumer satellite terminals and bandwidth efficiency technology. The consideration translates to a multiple of 14.6 times Newtec' s Ebita and 2.7 times revenue for the financial year ended Sept 30, 2018. The businesses, when combined, are expected to produce about S$200 million in value creation. The group said that the proposed acquisition of Newtec will add intellectual property (IP), products and market access. ST Engineering will also continue to invest in Newtec in Belgium to position it to be the group' s European centre for the satellite telecommunications business. This will enable ST Engineering to meet demand across the full spectrum of the satellite telecommunications market, said the group. With enhanced capabilities, the group said that it can better participate and lead the advancement of the industry to enable Smart Cities globally. Capitalising on an enlarged IP and product portfolio, the group will be able to accelerate the deployment of satellite telecommunications-enabled 5G telco network, bringing high-bandwidth connectivity to remote regions. This will help bridge the digital divide and enable the development of new applications such as tele-medicine and tele-education, said the group. It will also help to address the growing need for Internet of Things and machine-to-machine connectivity, where millions of devices and telematic sensor points are expected to be connected for surveillance, data gathering and big-data analytics. Finally, the group said that the deal will enable it to provide end-to-end solutions for the mobility segment, enabling seamless Internet connectivity and remote monitoring for the aeronautical, maritime and connected car segments. The proposed acquisition is not expected to have any material impact on the earnings per share of ST Engineering for the current financial year but is expected to be earnings accretive from the second year post acquisition. It is also expected to reduce ST Engineering' s audited consolidated net tangible assets by approximately S$0.112 per share from S$0.41 per share to S$0.30 per share, assuming the proposed transaction has been effected at the end of FY2018. Newtec has consolidated net tangible assets of 5.1 million euros and consolidated net assets of 28.4 million euros as at Sept 30, 2018. The deal is subject to regulatory approvals and conditions from authorities in the US, France and Austria, and is expected to be completed in the second half of 2019. https://www.businesstimes.com.sg/companies-markets/st-engineering-to-fully-acquire-belgium-satellite-telecoms-group-for-250m-euros |

Very rich....................... ST Engineering' s Aerospace Sector Secures 10-year Airframe MRO Contract from Existing Customer Singapore, 25 February 2019 &ndash Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (ST Engineering) today announced that its Aerospace sector has signed an agreement with a contract value of about US$600m (approximately S$813m) to provide aircraft heavy maintenance services to a major North American operator. ST Engineering will support the operator, an existing customer, on a fleet of over 160 widebody and narrowbody aircraft starting in 2020 for a period of 10 years. Under the long-term strategic alliance, ST Engineering is able to offer a fleet reliability programme that monitors the health of each aircraft and recommend maintenance actions to address identified issues before they impact the airline' s operational reliability. Continuous improvement initiatives over the duration of the programme will also help drive greater efficiency and shorter turnaround times during maintenance.  http://infopub.sgx.com/FileOpen/Aerospace%20Sector%20Secures%2010-year%20Airframe%20MRO%20Contract%20from%20Existing%20Customer.ashx?App=Announcement& FileID=544754 |
