LTA awards S$64m contract to ST Engineering, Alexander Dennis for three-door buses THU, APR 25, 2019 - 11:15 AM SINGAPORE&rsquo S Land Transport Authority (LTA) will procure a total of 100 three-door double-deck buses for about S$64 million from Alexander Dennis (Singapore) Services and Singapore Technologies Engineering&rsquo s (ST Engineering) land systems arm. ST Engineering Land Systems will supply 50 of the buses for about S$30 million, while the Singapore division of British bus supplier Alexander Dennis will provide the other 50 for S$34 million, LTA said on Thursday in a media release. LTA called the tender in May last year, after getting encouraging results from its trial of three-door buses which spanned March 2017 to January 2018 and involved Tower Transit and SMRT Buses. &ldquo Commuters generally welcomed the additional door on these buses as it made boarding and alighting smoother and quicker,&rdquo LTA said in the Thursday media release. It awarded the contracts to the two tenderers after evaluating all bids based on criteria including price, tenderers&rsquo experience, track record, technical capabilities and compliance with local regulations. Both companies are LTA&rsquo s existing bus suppliers. Alexander Dennis accounts for about 4 per cent of LTA&rsquo s public fleet, while ST Engineering Land Systems has some 23 per cent. x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	ST Engineering Secures up to S$2.6b Polar Security Cutter contract from the U.S. Navy Singapore, 24 April 2019 &ndash Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (ST Engineering), a global technology, defence and engineering group today announced that the U.S. Department of the Navy has awarded VT Halter Marine, its shipbuilding business in Pascagoula, Mississippi, the Polar Security Cutter (formerly known as the Heavy Polar Ice Breaker) contract. The U.S. Department of the Navy has awarded VT Halter Marine as the Prime Contractor for a US$745,940,860 (about S$1b) fixed-price incentive-firm contract for the detail design and construction of the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Polar Security Cutter (PSC). The PSC contract is a multi-year programme and a USCG major system acquisition to acquire up to three multimission PSCs to recapitalise the USCG fleet of heavy icebreakers. This contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to US$1,942,812,266 (S$2.6b). The first ship delivery is scheduled to occur in 2024. If the options are exercised, the second and third vessels are expected to be delivered in 2025 and 2027 respectively. The vessels are 460 feet in length with a beam of 88 feet overall, a full load displacement of about 33,000 long tons at delivery. x 1   x 0  Alert Admin	Before you dabble in the stock market, it is very important to note some of the basic expected trends of the market. This one must know. Eg: Someone buy 3.85 cd and sell 3.76 xd, he would have made 1 cent profit (exclude brokerage for simplicity) This is because this person pay 3.85 but was given a 10 cent dividend, effectively, his cost would be 3.75. That is why if he sell 3.76, he would have made 1 cent. This scenario also answer your question if a Seller sell at 3.76 xd rather than sell at 3.85 cd, he would get a better deal if he sell 3.76 (because he will collect 10 cents dividend) Hope you are clear, but be warned that the stock market is not always straightforward nor predictable.
