Brent oil futures settled Tuesday at their highest in more than three years as tensions linked to Syria raised the potential for disruptions to Middle East crude output. Chinese and U.S. officials have also softened their rhetoric over their trade spat, easing worries over the potential for a slowdown in demand for oil. ?The reducing risk of a trade war and the rising risk of a real war in Syria accounted for the large move up,? said Phil Flynn, senior market analyst at Price Futures Group. ?The odds of a coordinated response to the chemical-weapon attack in Syria is making short selling more dangerous.? June Brent crude UK:LCOM8+0.08% the global benchmark, climbed $2.39, or 3.5% to settle at $71.04 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe. Tracking the most-active futures contracts, the global benchmark marked its highest finish since Dec. 1, 2014. On the New York Mercantile Exchange, May West Texas Intermediate crude CLK8+0.17% tacked on $2.09, or 3.3%, to settle at $65.51 a barrel. The settlement was the highest since March 26, according to FactSet data. Crude prices at the end of last week closed down roughly 2%, capping their worst week in two months, as the U.S. threatened new tariffs on Chinese imports and Beijing responded in kind. But prices began to retrace losses Monday afternoon after American and Chinese officials moved to soften their rhetoric over the trade spat. Meanwhile, news that Saudi Arabia is aiming for an $80 oil price offered further support, according to Flynn. The Saudis want oil prices near $80, in part to support the valuation of state-owned energy giant Aramco ahead of its initial public offering, Bloomberg News reported Tuesday, citing people who have spoken to delegates from the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and oil market participants. ?The Saudis are fully committed to getting oil to $80 a barrel. Usually, what the Saudis want, the Saudis get,? said Flynn. ?The Saudis are confirming what they have already told us and that is that they will do whatever it takes to reduce excess oil inventory and drive prices to what they see is a fair level.? And ?Russia with sanctions in place will also need to comply as they cant afford to risk a break in the price of oil,? he said.

The requirement currently is changes in percentage holding of SSH must be reported to the listco (not SGX) within 2 business days. The married deal was done within trading hours on Friday around 4 pm and if we count to the hours, then Tuesday around 4 pm is the full 2 biz days. I' m going to write to SGX later today for clarification. | ||||

Sounds like the 2 new shareholders are friendly with Keppel and are expected to approve the coming IPT mandate at Krisenergy' s AGM/EGM which Keppel is expected to abstain from voting.
