Yangzijiang Shipbuilding does not exclusively build only container ships. While they are a significant part of their portfolio, the company manufactures a diverse range of vessels, including:

Bulk carriers: Various sizes, such as 66000 DWT and 82500 DWT vessels.
Oil tankers: Including MR (50000 DWT), LR1 (75000 DWT), and LR2 (114000 DWT) types.
Liquefied gas carriers: Such as LNG, LEG, and LPG carriers, including large-scale LNG carriers of 175000 cubic meters.
Ethylene carriers: For example, 36000 m³ dual-fuel ethylene (LEG) carriers.
Multi-purpose ships and ocean engineering equipment: Catering to various maritime needs.

Yangzijiang Shipbuilding has also ventured into constructing clean energy vessels, including methanol dual-fuel containerships and very large ethane carriers (VLECs). Their expansive capabilities and investments in green technologies position them as a versatile and forward-looking shipbuilder in the global maritime industry.

US is not the main market of Huawei. Also, Huawei phones can be sold to most of the emerging world and compete on price. Now if the ships cannot call or too exorbitant to call on US ports where it is the main market for most countries exports, the impact will be different.

There is why the share price dropped from over SGD 3 to its now current struggling below SGD2.24. With these exorbitant charges, future orders will dried up.... Long term does not look good unless there is a change in the party governing the States or a change in the charges.

YZJ had a blockbuster 2024, sorry to see its share price fall becos of US tariffs/ port fees....
But boss said shipyard will be busy for years to come as orderbook is massive.

On the contrary, pre xD seems to be their favorite period.
This is because share price usually drop more than dividend amount, never understood why.
Case in point - UOB. 2nd most shorted stock last Friday.
Today is xD and UOB share price actually dropped more than dividend amount.
