Check out the news on 15th May by Bloomberg... SIA is now one of the most shorted stock in spore. Where is the smart money going next?

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Well, If they cannot do a good job, perhaps someone could name some Singaporeans who can do a good job?  Honestly speaking, someone or some people have to  do it. If they cannot do it, we will try to get better ones through election. But then again, who is truly good or of high genuine leadership qualities? To be frank, almost no current leader is truly good .  No one can really justify the salary except the country system built or supported by the people. Look at the our neighbours' government, are they doing any better? Their government seems to earn much lesser, but How much did they obtain behind the back of their citizens? we all have it in our minds. We all have dirty linen to wash in our backyard.  On hindsight, do we think we can justify the salary we are paid? Most of us would definitely think we SHOULD be paid more. Else we wont be here discussing using diffferent perspectives in a civilised manner.  Back to SIA nonetheless, it is a commercial listed company that many who think it is the safest bet have placed the their cpf or hard earned savings in it. It is always easy to shout to short it down as one does not own anything before its crash. This is reality and we lead a commercial life that those not worthy will be removed as turnover is always high when it comes to investment related company.  Hence, I believe their math should be much better than me and they will have done their due diligence to keep their diamond rich bowl. Else this rice bowl will be passed to someone who is more deserving.  When business face issues, we try all sorts of means to keep it afloat. It has a lot of social responsibility and repercussions beyond just profits per se. Well I respect your view on the propaganda. Everywhere is the same and they could only be worse (most of them).

Caveat you need to make your own judgement call as this is still a blue chip with some risks. If you did not put in a money say 5-10k, i see no harm to keep it till you earn your desired profits?  If you sell now, which I assume it is at a loss, you defnitely will lose the money. However cutting loss is an art everyone has to learn. Some dont feel comfortable if the loss balloons more than 10% so they will cut decively. As someone who has learnt it the hard way, you need to see if you are willing to take the risk if the loss is bigger than 10% BUT below 20% ( and the amount involved). The process is called Right Issue.  It is free cash and no interest need to pay.  Probably CFO' s now are very busy in figuring out how much they need to withdraw from this ATM. This is like " daylight robbery" but it is legal. If you don' t want to give, the threat is share dilution and paper lost.

Im still long term bearish on SIA but i think the price that u short is not attractive.
