ST Engineering 3Q2012 Results PBT - $184.7 million PAT - $146.4 million EPS - $4.77 ST Engineering 3Q2019 Results PBT - $166.8 million (mind you this is after consolidation of EFW and recently acquired MRA - spending close to S$1 billion to acquire) PAT - $139.1 million EPS - 4.46 After 7 years, you have results poorer than 2012 3Q?? During this period total liabilities of the group have increased a whopping $1.2 billion Intangible assets have also increased from $0.6 billion in 3Q2012 to $1.7 billion in 3Q2019. For P& L and B/S perspective, overall a very poor performance. Is the group robust enough for a significant aviation downturn - which would affect EFW and MRA and ST Aero Airline MRO businesses significantly. Need to be very watchful. |

UOB KH - 8th Oct Singapore Tech Engineering (STE SP) Trading Buy Range: S$3.94-3.95 Last price: S$3.91 Target price: S$4.15 / 4.30 Protective stop: S$3.74 The stock has been moving higher after reaching a low of S$3.76 three days ago and closed above the conversion and base lines yesterday. It formed a hammer-like candlestick pattern. There is a divergence warning from the MACD as well as a bullish MACD crossover. These could increase the odds for the stock to test its previous gap resistance. We see increasing odds of stock price testing S$4.15 and S$4.30. Stops could be placed at S$3.74. Approximate timeframe on average: 2-3 weeks (initiate this trade idea if the stock hits the entry price range within three trading days) Our institutional research has a fundamental BUY and target price of S$4.34.
