Singapore-listed Yangzijiang Shipbuilding (YZJ) has sold off its shares in three loss-making property companies as part of its restructuring.

The shipbuilder said it wanted to focus on core vessel-construction activities. Bullshit. They might have a huge loss in investing in the properties which they are not good at all. So this excuse.

- CHANGZHOU GREEN FIELD QUINT REAL ESTATE CO., LTD., AND ITS WHOLLY-OWNED

Mkt Capitalisation:  S$4.4bln

Gross margins: 27%

ROE: 17.39% (year end Dec 2013).      After proposed sharebuyback:  19.58%

Earnings per share:  S$0.16cents, after proposed sharebuyback: 17.95cents

But once YZJ comes down to low levels, it becomes a lot more attractive because of the potential  upside in price.        There are very few such companies able to earn such high returns and giving consistent eps growth.

Usually price declines based on analysts' views can continue until market adjusts back up again.        In the same way that Ezion price was hammered down due to an analyst report sometime back, YZJ is suffering a similar fate.

However, both cos are highly profitable, historical ROE of btwn 18 to 20%, and with tremendous potential having being awarded lucractive ship building contracts (YZJ). 

It' s for the investor to find the right price to buy, and I find these levels quite attractive.
