It even fell to 1.8x a couple of weeks ago. RM1B+ was thrown away. The share price ended so much worse then before. Granted, without the buy back effect, it would still be around 2 because that' s what the market values it. Same goes for SMM. The market values it now at 14-16 only. If one is really LT on this, one would want the co to spend the 583m to chase a few B worth of projects. If they are successful, 20 cents is no problem, even 30 or 40. But it will take time. No patience, then this counter is a no no. Just MHO.

With recent success in neighbouring Guyana, Suriname offers hope for low-cost oil exploration and production going into 2021.        Exxon Mobil, Royal Dutch Shell, Total, Apache are all showing interest in the South American state, hoping Suriname will    provide oil for as little as $30 to $40 a barrel  thanks to lower production costs. This is well below the average US production cost of almost $50 per barrel. Attracting oil investment from foreign companies only became possible after the  successful discovery of oil in deep wells in 2015, following around 60 years of failure in shallow waters. Implication: The theme for offshore oil and gas development is deeper, colder and harsher. Projects are going to cost much more a piece for deeper, colder and harsher waters. Offshore boom is happening right about now. The Korean yards are busy filling their LNG carrier orders stretching out to 2024. The Chinese yards are busy with their domestic wind farms related orders. That leaves Sembmarine more space to capture the Offshore oil and gas recovery.

After the rights issue in Sept, the debt is reduced by $1.5billion (surbodinated lon from Semcorp written off) Cash increase from $1.1 to $1.7 billion ($600 million cash from rights issue) The number of shares increase from 2 to 12 billion. So cash on hand NOW is 14-16 cenrts per share. I venture to say it is closer to 16 cents per share cash

Sorry but where did he lead the world to? Chaos everywhere especially if you are outside of US. For them in the US, was it really better? His policies actually caused even more job losses. The pandemic helped him cover up that. Perhaps that was why he didn' t want to do anything about the COVID. So that he could blame everything on that, and conveniently on China that he labelled as the source. Anyway, it was a lost opportunity by US. Another president probably would have executed it better if s/he wanted to guard against China. Now even EU is weary of US and didn' t think US was trustworthy any more and quickly signed a deal with China to protect themselves first. The damage will be long lasting if not forever. Think China would be very happy with the outcome of the past 4 years, especially now they are the only major economy that has already begun its recovery. If anything, this probably would have embolden them.
