I dun think Super group shares price will rebound anytime sooner due to the constant unrests and chaos in Thailand. Just watched the 6.30pm Chinese news on channel 8 reporting that there are violent public protests against the military rule. Thai protesters clashed with the military and alot of protesters were arrested. With these bad news continue to linger around, it only do more harms than goods for Super group shares price in coming days. | ||||

The industry median price in which F& B companies were acquired for worldwide is priced at 16x PE. Accruing a 15% decline in net profit this year (note that last year&rsquo s net profit has mostly been flat if not for the one off disposal gain of $21 mil), net profit this year would be $67 mil. Based on the no. of shares issued, that wld give a EPS of 12 cents. Let&rsquo s just say super has its merits too in terms of an integrated business (downstream and upstream), its strong presence in the SEA market as well as the increasing growth of coffee consumption and cash hoard (I&rsquo ve largely ignored declining profits), I ascribe a PE of 25x (which I think is expensive but possible) that an individual would likely pay for in a buyout scenario in the most optimistic case. That would give a pricing of $3.00. In the past, Super has been rumoured to be an attractive target and most have speculated the price to be more than $5.00 (valuing at 29x PE), valuing the company to be the most expensive takeover that would ever occur in F& B history in Asia if it ever happens. But are we too optimistic after seeing decreasing growth for the past 3 quarters, resulting not from rising cost but lower revenue? In fact, Suntory has also said it would not make any acquisition in the next 12 mths too. |

theoretically, when companies issue one for one bonus, theoretically, prices should also half on the first day of XB. However, whether it opens as the half price on monday of today' s closing price is unknown because as usual, it depends on the demand and supply of the shares and as well, also on the market sentiments on that day. if say over the weekend, there is a disaster that may impact the market, on monday, u should expect a gap down, since such forces are market wide driven. As well, shares could also either go up on monday due to the fact that one share is now much cheaper than before. however, it could also go down because others, who might have hold the stock for a long time, may feel that since they now have received the BONUS shares, it is additional shares to them and may want to sell it off in the open market.
