In a way, it is a short pain and move on. But in order for the JM to work, the creditor must agree to delay their claim, more so for DBS being the largest creditor. DBS has to be the lead in this JM, which means they must have to sacrifice to convince others to agree, eg Swiber will pay other creditor first before DBS. Otherwise if you are creditor of say $10m, do you want to wait or want to get something out now to close the issue? So the process to recover DBS debt will be even longer and more uncertain. If DBS final exposure is just $150m as what DBS Ceo claimed, I think they should just write this off and move on. There is no reason to risk the $550m for this $150m. It is throwing good money after bad money
