COVID-19 measures ' are working' , no further tightening expected: Lawrence WongSINGAPORE: There is no need for a " further tightening of posture" on top of the current COVID-19 safe management measures, said Finance Minister Lawrence Wong on Friday (May 28). Mr Wong, who co-chairs the COVID-19 multi-ministry task force, said this as he announced more support measures for businesses affected by current restrictions during Phase 2 (Heightened Alert), which are to last through Jun 13. " It' s been nearly two weeks since we last announced the current round of measures to deal with the outbreak of cases in Singapore. " Our assessment is that the measures are working, and they are having an effect in controlling the spread of the virus," he said. " We are continuing to monitor the situation very closely." He added that the Government will give a detailed update on Monday at the next multi-ministry task force press conference. " For now, we believe that the measures are working, they are having an effect in helping us curb the spread of the virus and therefore, we do not think there is a need for further tightening in our overall posture," he said later in response to a reporter' s question. He said that without the restrictions, the number of COVID-19 cases could have increased " exponentially" , but that has not happened so far. He also thanked Singapore residents for cooperating with the restrictions, but warned against complacency. " COVID-19 is likely to be around for some time and we will all have a role to play to develop more resilient strategies to adapt to this new environment," said Mr Wong. " So working together, I' m confident that we can overcome this current setback and emerge stronger, more resilient and more united than before." |

Think there are genuine collectors at 98, probably for long term. And contras waiting at 95 or so. Just gassing. Yeah, likely close at 99-100. Doesn' t make any diff for those waiting for next week' s trading.

Yeah, 2H' 20 div of 5.57cps paid tdy. Others can say what they like, but where can get so good at this price of 99/100. Result of 1H' 21 akan datang in about 2.5 months time, can expect another good div announcement. Good for investors who are willing to wait for kongsi' s hefty half yearly div, but still got to monitor closely kongsi' s perf. No good for contra players competing with LH to RH manipulators for peanuts. Anyway, their money their choice. Just opinion.

Lol exactly what I' ve been saying all along. Medical counters are dead. Yet still so many choose to believe that it will continue to climb one day cos " fundamentals" . Had the money been taken out and put almost anywhere else, you would likely already be sitting on a larger profit.

This counter is gone lah. Despite Covid rampaging, still not supported tells a big story. Yang bought 500,000 shares on 12th May at average 95.8 cts. This counter ex-div was on 12th May meaning Yang' s purchased shares got no dividend. Why ??? Basically it is to support the share prices up front while continue distributing at good price. At best it is going to be range bound within a few cts. No more MEAT here. Go somewhere the grass is greener. |

Seriously let' s not do any witch-hunting in this forum. Everyone can say anything in a forum but if we are discerning and do our own due diligence, we should just not pay attention to any fortune-teller or doomsday or wonderland narratives and pick out those that are useful. However, I must add that the BBs love this and short term players are playing right into their hands.
