If JEP were to truly turnaround only next FY, I think there will be enough time for accumulation later in the year. Unless, one has deep pocket, so don' t mind if one can tahan for 6 to 9 mths without gd return. Not vested. |

The market currently is a rather fast market. At least between now and possibly July. Make hay while sun shines. Opportunity cost is high. I usually accumulate shares in a dull and quiet environment (like the last few years). There will be opportunity aplenty later in the year for accumulation. I am not vested here. So just some comments from afar. Not a call to buy or sell.

Just a note - as a norm i ignore the daily short term " ups n downs" . The situation i see now reminds me of what i saw when i started the post on Chasen. Date of post 3.6 cts and today trading at 11.8 cts. In fact it reached a high of 14cts. A nice multi bagger for me. Had i sold earlier or if i was a short term holder, i would have miss it. Most important questions i asked: 1. Is the company turning around? 2. Will the company' s profit improve? 3. Will it improve further? If the answer are yes for above questions i will hold or increase my position till the profit peak.

JEP Holdings revenue come from 3 main segments - aerospace, equipment manufacturing n trading (JEP Industrades). Comments in the annual report are: a) aerospace sector (52%) - " receiving robust order" -enquiries from potential customers b) equipment sector (13%) - " a steady flow of order" c) trading sector (26%) - " has continued performing well" d) others - 9% If above comments hold true, then clearly the company performance should improve. Personally i am not expecting much this year (2017), though improvements are expected, as current year the company will be burdened w costs related to the relocation of its plants to SAP (Seletar Aerospace Park) and setting up production lines. The test is in next year ie 2018. As such, this stock is for long term holders, those who look ahead. Am heavily vested for the long term. - just sharing |

Thanks Joseph for your analysis. Just read the Chairman' s outlook for 2015 & 2016. It' s certainly a lot more optimistic. Seems like exiciting times ahead for JEP.

Another quote taken from the Annual Report. Quote: Aerospace and Semiconductor Orders Filling Up
Capacity
In terms of business activity, we have been working
hard to fill up the excess capacity left behind by the
aforementioned drop in oil & gas orders. Aerospace
continues to be the main pillar of our business, where we
are receiving robust order flow from existing customers
as well as enquiries from potential new customers. The
semiconductor customers that we serve have also given
us a steady flow of orders. JEP Industrades, which we
acquired in August 2015, has continued performing well
under our Trading & Others segment, providing a base of
recurring income for the Group.
Above is a quote taken from the annual report. Personally, i
think they may be doing ok for 2017 but the main test is in 2018
when everything (moving to new plants, setting up production lines etc,)
has settled down. If vested, must be prepared to look long term.

sell to buyer @ 6.5mil shares, buy from seller @ 4.1mil shares........... contra players bailed out at mainly at 0.028 shares (3.1mil shares) last 30mins are mainly real trades ....IMHO. |

Just sharing ... As a long term investor i normally hold my shares long and ignore the daily ups n downs. When a counter starts to turn around, it takes time for it to appreciate to its full or fair value. Some may take weeks, some months n some even longer. What is important is .. Has the company turn around? Is its profit improving? Is its profit going to be even better further down the road? So long as the company is moving forward, there is no need to sell your share. You can make good money only when you hold long and ignore the short terms ups n downs. I sell mine when i think its fairly valued. Below are some examples: I posted Sinostar Pec on 10 oct ' 16 when it was 12.5 cts. It peaked at 23 cts on 24 mar ' 17. It takes Sinostar 6 months to reach its current peak. I posted Mermaid Maritime on 27 oct ' 16 when it was 11.8 cts. It peaked at 24.5 cts on 21 march ' 17, again, almost 6 months. Excelpoint ... started collecting since 2013 at around 36 cts .. today its trading at around 70 cts. In between i collected 13 worth of dividends. This one takes 4 years n i am still holding, bcoz of its high dividend yield and also i expected another year of improved profitability. So, back to my earlier statement ... is the company turning around, is the profit improving, will the profit be even better down the road. If yes ... hold. If along the way, the profit turn negative ... sell. Just sharing .. btw, you can my postings on this site. All the best to all! |
