Yes, you channel the dividends into growth stocks. That' s what I' m doing. Sort of the opposite of recommended investment strategy (growth progressing into yield).

My yield is 20 per cent now. That is overly grossly obscene. I'm becoming too fat. Need to slim down.

Those with average cost in the low $30' s - our dividend yield based on 60c+15c per quarter is actually 9-10%. Frankly, that' s obscene but I' m not complaining :) | ||||

That could be a 6 month target price. We are heading towards the 50 dollar mark which has a very high chance of reaching this year.
Bear sees a 10 percent minimum gain for STI this year with 4,000 to be breached very soon.

ANALYSTS have raised their target prices for DBS after the lender on Monday (Feb 10) posted full-year net profit that reached a record high. This points to potentially higher valuations and the bank dishing out more dividends ahead. Maybank Securities raised its target price for DBS by nearly 10 per cent to S$51.37 from S$46.91, with a &ldquo buy&rdquo rating. RHB on Tuesday maintained its &ldquo buy&rdquo rating, and raised its target price by nearly 15 per cent to S$51.20 from S$44.70. |

One must be bear enuff to take disappointments, let them not cloud your judgement and move on in the right direction.

Much as I would like to support our local talent, so many of them have disappointed us...I just hope this new incoming female boss will steer the ship in the right direction...Ultimately I'm still apprehensive.

DBS appoints group audit head Derrick Goh as group COO, a newly created role
The veteran has been with the bank since 2008, and will assume the newly created role from Apr 1
SINGAPORE&rsquo S largest lender DBS : D05 +0.25%has appointed its current group audit head, Derrick Goh, to assume the newly created role of group chief operating officer, said the bank on Wednesday (Feb 12).
Goh, who is also a Member of Parliament for the Nee Soon Group Representation Constituency, will be overseeing both the bank&rsquo s operations and transformation divisions, and will also join its executive committee.
Koh Kar Siong, who is currently group head of corporate and SME (small and medium enterprise) banking, will take over from Goh as head of audit. He will be a member of the bank&rsquo s management committee.
Both appointments take effect from Apr 1.
Goh, 56, has been with DBS since 2008 &ndash before he joined politics and ran in the 2020 general election &ndash and has held a number of senior roles in the bank.
Before he became the head of the group&rsquo s audit team in 2018, he led its regional wealth management programme. Prior to that, he was head of POSB and consumer banking group distribution in Singapore.
His other roles in DBS include being regional chief operating officer and chief financial officer of the bank&rsquo s institutional banking group, as well as its head of finance, group planning and analytics.
As for Koh, he joined DBS in 2003 and was head of SME banking in Singapore. Before that, he held various roles in consumer banking group as well as wealth management.
In addition, Jimmy Ng, who is currently the group&rsquo s head of operations, will retire from executive duties from Jul 1.
He will be the bank&rsquo s senior adviser for its artificial intelligence efforts until the end of the year.
DBS&rsquo outgoing chief executive officer, Piyush Gupta, said that these management changes reflect the bank&rsquo s robust bench and its success in grooming the next generation of leaders from within the company.
Tan Su Shan, who was previously the group head of institutional banking, was appointed deputy CEO in August last year ahead of her taking over the reins when Gupta retires at the next annual general meeting on Mar 28, 2025.

Tho' I' m happy to see this input, but this was not what you said to me this morning. This monring, you said the 60c is only for 4qfy24, and subsequently, the qtrly ' ORDINARY' dividend will depend on results
