x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	SPH is a vastly different company today than it was 2 years ago. In fact, its digital media subscription is growing at double the rate of its loss of print subscription. Everyone read news, even all the major ang moh news media like Bloomberg all must pay money. No more free digital news. I see hope that this will become a more sustained and profitable media business. Work hard SPH. Many retiress depend on you for income. Please do not disappoint. Once this unit is proving to be growing and profitable (it would have been profitable for FY 2020 had it not been due to restructuring and retrenchment cost), it could be hived off and listed separately, and distribute the shares " in-specie" to respective shareholders. This way our Sing govt will still retain majority control of the national newspapers directly as they are strategically important for national security, while the remaining business in SPH are all highly profitable. I am looking forward to a new SPH. Just like Sembcorp Industries, once Sembcorp Marine was hived off, the rest of the Semcorp Ind business are being viewed very positively by the investment communicty.  FY 2020 loss was due to a massive writedown (- $232 million !) of fair value of SPH shopping malls and PBSA (student dorms) due to covid-19. I forsee the majority of the fair value will be restored and in fact gain in value after covid-19 is over. Then management will writeback the loss in fair value and you will see nice profit bumps for a while. This is a very smart thing to do.    I expect SPH annual profits to recover back to above $250 mio per year. Dont see SPH no-up hor!  Many old economy stocks are making a strong come back. Every dog has its day, and it is happening with SPH.
