6 months from now, people who were looking at SingTel and wondering I Mai I Mai and didnt buy will say...." Wasted" .  Generally, we make money if we make it a point to BUY EVERY SELLDOWN. If we do a CHASE ON RALLY, sometimes we still get to make money if the rally still has room to run. But if we do a BUY ON GOOD NEWS and SELL ON BAD NEWS and we do this regularly, then chances are this strategy will be a loss making one. Stockpick is ofcoz the most important. Pick a good stock. Then BUY ON WEAKNESS. No contra. No leverage. Buy with cash. Hold till the market recovers. This strategy will make money for almost everyone who uses it.

Could be becoz of AI play, tech play, etc. Wall Street is currently led by AI-stocks. Which has led some market watchers to call for an AI bubble. But this bubble talk is not new. Has been going on for at least 6 months already. If not longer. But it is still AI leading the charge. And it doesnt seem like it is going to stop anytime soon. Every serious organization which wants to not only survive but thrive and be a market leader simply cannot turn a blind eye to AI. Whether you are a company which is making something or you are a company which is providing a service, you want to and you need to use AI to make a better product or to produce a better service. To say you dont need AI if your business is about technology is to be in self-denial. A candidate looking for a job in a technology company who knows a lot about AI and how to use it to become better only need to provide a live demo during an interview to impress his or her prospective employers. So AI is here to stay. At the very least for the next few years. Companies will still acquire and invest in AI. That being the case, how can there be a bubble. When a rise is fueled by real demand which is sustainable, that' s not a bubble. That' s growth. Only if fueled by speculation and greed then is a bubble. So those of us who knows how to strike when the iron is hot by having a mindset change to invest in stocks which will directly and immediately benefit from an AI-led market rally will reap much better outcomes. Anybody here willing to take the lead ? We are all ears. I am. |

Frencken is up 10% today. Seems the old economy stocks like banks, property, reits, telcos cant give you that sort of movement. Semiconductor is in. Flavour of the moment. AEM, Frencken, and UMS will hog the limelight and action for a while. But to chase them, at this stage, requires bolas. Strong heart. Strong lungs. Strong liver. And Strong kidneys. I no have. So, stick with what I know. Sampan. Wait for the rate cuts and interest environment to improve. |

Trump is heading for China and will be there from 13th to 15th May. What this means is nothing will happen from now till 16th May. Which is the whole of this week. So if the market wants to run, it has this week to do so without worrying about the stalemate in peace talks. |

If unacceptable, then do something. Show us what you are really capable of. Instead of hiding behind Pakistani skirts. Learning to manage your Gulf allies and protect them. Saudi boys have already denied Trump access to air space. Trump called the Saudi Prince and pleaded with him, only to be rebuffed. Trump, despite having the most powerful force in the world, is unable to close this after 2.5 months. That too against a lame duck Iran. Imagine, Trump taking on China, in a war. Sigh. What an idiot.

So the ball is now in Trump' s court. What will he do next? He said it will take 2 weeks to " hit every single target in Iran" . Or he can continue the blockade and see how long Iran can hold out. Trump should continue the blockade of Iranian ports whist allowing all other ships to sail in and out so that it is business as usual for everyone else except for Iran. And provide escort for commercial shipping. Maintain a 24/7 watch on the Iranian coast for fast boats. Send out a warning that any approaching small fast boats will be blown out of the waters without hesitation. How will markets react to the breakdown in talks? Selldown? Not necessarily. I think the market is damn tired with this war. It wants to focus on fundamentals. Just like the markets have long forgotten about the Russian-Ukraine War and are focussing on earnings, interest rate, job data, etc. |

Iran thinks USA will chicken out first. If Trump continues the blockade for 3-4 more months, Iran will come back crying and agree to everything. Better still if US extends it to air-blockade as well.

The Iranian Regime once again has spoken through their anuses. Their response to US is: 1. Permanent end to the war on all fronts especially Lebanon. 2. US naval blockade of Iranian ports to end immediately. 3. Iran shall have control of Straits of Hormuz. 4. Iran' s uranium to be diluted or transferred to another country. The Iranians talk like they have the most powerful military in the world. Which is why you cannot imagine what they will do to the Gulf nations if they are indeed the country with the most powerful military in the world. One possibility is Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, Bahrain, Iraq and Oman will cease to exit. That entire region together with Iran is called the Islamic Republic of Great Iran. And Israel' s right to exist will be numbered with the clock counting down to zero. |
