Vard Holdings' Q2 earnings plunge 58.6%JUL 22, 2015 9:12 AM SHIPYARD Vard Holdings' second-quarter earnings took a dive amid a slowdown in activity due to the slump in crude oil prices. Net profit for the three months ended June 30, 2015, plunged 58.6 per cent year on year to 58 million Norwegian kroner, the company said on Tuesday. Translated into Singapore dollars as at June 30, the drop was even steeper - the Q2 earnings worked out to S$10 million, a 64.3 per cent plunge over the same period, the company said on Wednesday. Earnings per share fell 64.1 per cent from the previous year to 0.85 Singapore cents. This slide came on the back of lower revenue, which slid 15.4 per cent year on year to 2.49 billion Norwegian kroner. Vard said on Tuesday that activity at its yards had fallen and it was cutting costs in order to cope with it. It has also started job cuts, with " its extent depending on the order book development going forward" , it added. Chief executive officer and executive director Roy Reite said the firm would continue to focus on research and developing new business. Vard shares were down half a cent to finish at S$0.485 on Tuesday. |

TA from UOB KH 2 July. This one seems to be getting from bad to worse. Vard (VARD SP, MS7) Technical SELL with 17.4% potential returns Last price: S$0.545 Target price: S$0.45 Protective stop: S$0.58 SELL with a target price of S$0.45 with stops placed at S$0.58. The stock appears to be trading below its immediate support at S$0.56 and trading below the resistance-turned support level of S$0.52 could suggest further downside. The MACD indicator has traded below its centreline and the MACD histogram has also started to move below its centreline, suggesting a bearish momentum. Expected timeframe: 3 weeks PS : Not vested. Vard Holdings (VARD SP, SELL, TP: SGD0.47) A Blast From The Past Update Vard secured its first contract for the year for one diving support and construction vessel (estimated value: c.NOK700m) from a new client, Kreuz Subsea, scheduled for 2Q17 delivery. VARD SECURES CONTRACT FOR ONE DIVING SUPPORT AND CONSTRUCTION VESSEL FOR KREUZ SUBSEA Singapore, 8 June 2015 &ndash Vard Holdings Limited (&ldquo VARD&rdquo ), one of the major global designers and shipbuilders of offshore and specialized vessels, is pleased to announce that it has secured a contract for the design and construction of one Diving Support and Construction Vessel for Singapore-based Kreuz Subsea group. The vessel will be of VARD 3 17 design, with a total length of 91.2 meters and a beam of 21.5 meters, and has been developed especially for diving support and subsea construction duties. Designed by Vard Design in Å lesund, Norway, and with hull construction to be carried out at Vard Tulcea in Romania, delivery is scheduled from Vard Sø viknes in Norway in 2Q 2017. The DP2 class vessel will have a 100-ton active heave compensated offshore crane, and is prepared for Remote Operating Vehicles (ROVs). The diving system features a single bell system for a maximum of 12 divers, and can operate in water depths of up to 300 meters with a surface diving spread suitable for air diving in up to 50 meters depth. The diving accommodation is divided into three saturation living chambers. The vessel will be built according to latest SPS regulations, and can accommodate up to 105 persons. Established in 2008 as a provider of integrated offshore subsea services to the oil and gas industry, Kreuz Subsea has multipurpose support vessels, remotely operated vehicles and saturation & surface-supplied diving systems under ownership, and is well placed to offer the industry innovative, safe and productive subsea solutions, with a competitive edge. Recognized by its clients as an experienced, ethical and reputable integrated subsea services provider to the offshore oil and gas industry, Kreuz Subsea is progressing towards becoming an established deep-water SURF installation service provider. Specialized gas-driven vessel from VARD to Goliat on ten-year contractin Shipbuilding News 06/06/2015 
Simon Mø kster Shipping&rsquo s new platform supply vessel is custom built for operations in arctic areas and is unique in its kind. Now it&rsquo s ready to start working for Eni at the Goliat field in the Barents Sea. The new vessel Stril Barents is delivered from Vard Aukra to Simon Mø kster Shipping. Cooperation between VARD, Simon Mø kster Shipping and Eni, has resulted in a unique vessel that meets all requirements for operation under extreme conditions in the Barents Sea. The gas-driven vessel is of VARD 1 06 design and has combined platform supply and emergency response capabilities. It is the first time this type of ship is built. Hans Gunnar Hansen, Yard Director of Vard Aukra, is proud of the new ship: &ndash The project has been exciting, advanced and it has developed us as a company. By being solution-oriented and having a common goal in optimizing the product, we have together developed a ship with unique capacities that will ensure safety around the Goliat platform and its personnel.
