Look at it from the optimistic side, bb shorting can enable more people to buy cheaply. If you are a long term holder, you would not be overly concerned about short term price movements.

This should be a long term hold, those looking for quick share price movements up may be disappointed. It is also a favourite shorted stock because the perception of the company and it' s management is not so favourable, but however this will change when the 5G and digital bank revenues and profits come onstream. Noticed that they are building a strong team in Australia, they bought several units and putting the brains to monetize 5G - this is my impression. The spark in the NCS eventually will grow into a blazing fire from which the phoenix will emerge. I think this is the value of this stock. | ||||

the outcome of overly optimistic. people expected more but turn out to be less. moral of the story: do not post bullish messages to make oneself happy-- the so-called ' kaki kong kaki song ' . best is neutral or stay slightly negative so when the result is good, price will surge. |

Singtel' s net profit for the full year grew two and a half times to S$1.95 billion primarily due to a net exceptional gain from the Group' s divestment of its 70% equity stake in Australia Tower Network compared to a net exceptional loss last year. Underlying net profit improved 11% to S$1.92 billion, mainly lifted by Airtel' s resilient turnaround.
Operating revenue fell 2% to S$15.34 billion while EBITDA was also down 2% to S$3.77 billion,
reflecting lower NBN migration revenue, the continued impact of COVID-19 and challenges in the carriage business. Excluding NBN migration revenue and Jobs Support Scheme (JSS) credits, operating revenue was stable,
with EBITDA and EBIT growing 8% and 33% respectively, driven by strong growth in mobile service in Australia. " This improved set of results underscores the Group' s resilience in spite of the pandemic' s challenges and the uncertain macro environment. Our mobile business in Australia and our regional associate Airtel capped the year with solid performances to deliver good results. " |

In the current turmultous year 9.3 cents dividend is a sign of the company' s strength. There is a higher anticipation of better things to come. Singtel should be less debt burdened, so we we can expect to enjoy higher income with our investments going forward. GXS is opening business soon. | ||||

I am happy with the increase, which now brings me 7k plus of Singtel dividend.
With another 6.k plus dividend from ST Eng and others, I hv been hitting my target of 20k passive income stream this past 3 yrs. This has been part of my retirement planning. Now that dividends are expected to rise with reopening., its perhaps time for me to revise my target to 24k. Ofc, this may mean pumping more cash into some dividend stocks.

I know I am collecting nearly $6k worth of dividends and also reinvesting on Singtel. The drop will be good for me as I can buy 3 nearly full lots! Whoever that sell now, well all the best to them!

I believe the fall is temporary... usually after dividends, people will start throwing but it will level itself out in a couple of weeks later. There is a slight chance it might go until $3 by end June | ||||
