Tigerair takeover deal not fair for minority shareholders, says investing watchdog The offer price is too low. Retail investors who hold Tigerair shares might be getting the shorter end of the stick when it comes to Singapore Airlines&rsquo proposed privatisation of the budget carrier, according to a statement from the Securities Investors Association Singapore (SIAS). In a bid to take Tigerair private, SIA had earlier offered to pay 41 Singapore cents for Tigerair shares that it does not yet own, along with an option to subscribe for SIA shares at $11.1043 per share. However, SIAS argued that the offer price is 39% lower than what a long-term minority shareholder would have paid for Tigerair shares. &ldquo A Tiger Airways&rsquo shareholder, who held on to his IPO shares that was bought for $1.50 a share and subscribed to all three rights issues since IPO would have paid an average of $0.67 a share,&rdquo SIAS President David Gerald said in a statement. | ||||

Also, like to raise this point up again. NOL is so call a national iconic asset of singapore, u think temasek and the PAP would even sell it below NAV?? If they do, PAP and temasek will get ridiculed by alot of long term investors and singaporeans who bought much earlier and the whole wide world, that their national iconic asset got trampled upon. So its likely they would rather not deal then to sell so cheaply. Given the circumstances now, seems like deal at a pretty good price is more possible. |

If lot of prominent business website start to broadcast the same piece of news over and over again, it meant something is brewing. What is the end result , it is one big question. So before u shoot ur mouth, think again and again why those website are promoting the CMA takeover. Not long ago the same peep in forum also say that CMA would not get bank support and deal would fail, but look what happen? CMA secured firm commitments from 3 international big banks, it not 1 but 3, why in the hell would CMA ask for support from all 3 bank, 1 bank is normally enough for M& A. Ask this question over and over in ur head and u should know the answer. WSJ is reputable newstand, they don release leak if they are not 100% sure that why lot of bro in forum believed the deal is imminent and big premium coming. unless u got insider info to rebutt WSJ else just keep quiet and enjoy the show performed by temasek and CMA. i am enjoying the drama watching from side and drinking coffee lol |

This invisible theory at work also support why Nol is confident do away with any trading halt as their left hand know what their right hand is doing...furthermore they got the shareholders list & know exactly how many shares are free float

Besides hard to do trade...also not to be discouraged when price didn't move as much as it should be like even cma has secured funding.
Similarly if TH walk away from cma can, only mean they have plan B to execute so if shortist dare to push down just keep buying (within your means) as price again would fast recovered. |

SINGAPORE (Dec 4): Shares of Neptune Orient Lines ( Valuation: 0.90, Fundamental: 0.75) are trading near a three year high on hopes that French shipper CMA CGM SA is close to nearing a deal to buy the Singapore listed container shipper.
The Wall Street Journal, quoting sources, reported Thursday that CMA CGM is in talks with banks including BNP Paribas Group, HSBC Holdings Plc. ( Valuation: None, Fundamental: None) and JP Morgan & Chase Co. to raise money to finance the acquisition of NOL in a deal valued at around US$5 billion ($7 billion).
CMA CGM, the world' s third-largest container shipper by capacity had late last month entered into exclusive talks with NOL&rsquo s largest shareholder, Temasek Holdings, to buy its stake in NOL. If CMA CGM succeeds in buying the 65% stake, it will eventually lead to an offer for all of NOL. Stock is up 2.07% at $1.225, outperforming the Straits Times Index which is down 0.5%. 6 hour news from the edge website. |

Yes, exactly....people are fearful now...hahaha. TH rejected $1.50...so why would the offer price be less than $1.50?  Don' t be scared...remember Olam?  Last time got problems...everyone started to panic...Olam bonds at 0.80..all forgetting that the overall economy is still OK and that Olam is still a blue chip...for those who dared to buy Olam bonds then...instant 20% gain on capital not counting the coupons.. Vested long in this.  Not worried.  So far, the news have been slow and steady.
