So likely Chinese investors selling to take advantage of currency weakness. S$ also weakhess lately, most likely caused the sell down. Should see recovery soon. The segment comes from Sembcorp Industries' ownership of around 61% of another Singapore-listed company,  Sembcorp Marine Ltd.  The economics of the energy segment, Sembcorp Industries' main revenue contributor, appears to have deteriorated significantly over time and there are two reasons -  Firstly, over the five year period from 2013 to 2018, the energy segment' s revenue and power production and water treatment capacities all grew substantially in that timeframe but its profit, after stripping off one-off items, had  declined.      Secondly, the energy segment' s return on equity has fallen hard from a respectable 18.6% in 2013 to a paltry 7.7% in 2018. For Sembcorp Industries, it is a different story. It is one of the GLC companies set by the government in the 60s. Unfortunately, the company is facing heardwinds especially in the energy business. What can Temasek do? It is up to the top management of Sembcorp to formulate strategies for the company to sail through the storm. Look at other Temasek' s GLC companies like SIA and SPH. All of them are facing headwinds, no company is spared.
