Effective Monday 21 September, UOL Group, SATS & Yangzijiang Shipbuilding will join the STI, while Jardine Matheson Holdings, Jardine Strategic Holdings & Olam International will be omitted.
  • The STI is based on free float market value, with Jardine Matheson Holdings and Jardine Strategic Holdings accounting for approximately 10% of the STI weights. Based on indicative free float levels at the end of the June quarter, UOL Group, SATS & Yangzijiang Shipbuilding would each average an approximate 1% weight on STI inclusion.
  • This means indicatively, from a sector perspective, the banking sector would increase its impact on the STI from 34% to 36% and the industrials sector would decrease its impact from 25% to 18%. Please note this is using published end of June quarter index weights and weights can change daily.

SHANGHAI (Reuters) - Profit margins at Chinese firms improved in the third quarter while loan demand remained weak,

a private survey showed , with the overall results suggesting the stock market crash would have minimal impact on the broader economy.

The quarterly survey of over 2,100 businesses by China Beige Book International (CBB) showed continued robust growth in the service sector

Yangzijiang Shipbuilding (YZJ) is our selection of the day. From a chartist point of view, the stock is reversing up after breaking above its Aug 31st high at 1.11, which should now play a key support role. The 20-day moving average is turning up and the daily RSI has broken above its declining trend line. To sum up, as long as 1.11 holds as support, we expect further upside to 1.26 and 1.34 as possible.
Yangzijiang Shipbuilding ST: rebound.
Pivot: 1.11

Our preference: Long positions above 1.11 with targets @ 1.26 & 1.34 in extension.

Alternative scenario: Below 1.11 look for further downside with 1.06 & 1 as targets.

Comment: The RSI is mixed to bullish.

MA (50) & MA (20): The most simple trend indicators are Moving Averages. They simply correspond to an average calculated on an evolving time scale (20 and 50 periods): every day, the oldest value (often taken at the close) in the average calculus is replaced by the value of the new session.

Bollinger bands: are represented by 3 different bands and are derived from moving averages. The middle band corresponds to a simple moving average (MA (20)). The level of the upper band, in every point, corresponds to the sum of the level of the middle band and twice the value of the standard deviation associated to the 20-day moving average. RSI (14): the Relative Strength Index aims at establishing a reference scale independently from the stock prices levels themselves. As the RSI has boundaries (0 and 100), it then becomes very easy to determine overbought (above 70) and oversold (below 30) areas. In addition, just as on prices themselves, supports and resistances can appear, especially when nearing the neutrality zone (near 50). Thus, the RSI is one of the most commonly used counter-trend indicators.
It is based on the average of rises and drops of price, with the formula:
RSI = 100 - [100 / (1 + RS)]
Where RS represents the average of up closes divided by the average of down closes on the considered period (14).

 Alert Admin 		What a big deal to be SGX top 30 in a bear market? When STI is coming down, it just become one of the target like those dropping from top 30. Reason for YJZ to be in list not because she is doing extremely well but other doing extremely bad.

Cosco used to be on the list, now is suspended for industry consolidation. YZJ absolutely perform better than cosco. But perform better doesn't mean she can change the industry. Through result can see a downward performance, if that is and highly will continue, what YZJ will become.

EB shut my bad mouth at 1.05 and took profit through shortselling, come back to short at 1.2 again with the same reason.

Be careful then as you need to take profit for those that had sold earlier will get back into the stock once price had corrected enough. I see value below 1.14.. cheers
