Think there is a BIG compeition going on here. (COFCO vs ADM) ==> so the high urgency of ADM increasing its stakes in Wilmar may be related to COFCO aggression in its big buying and fuirious expansions ?? 1. COFCO hires Ex ADM Executive as CEO of COFCO Agri 2. COFCO hires Dierk Overheu as new CEO of Nidera. Dierk Overheu was former vice chairman of Alfred C Toepfer: ADM Germany GmbHIn 2014, ADM acquired the remaining shares of Alfred C. Toepfer International, a global merchandiser of agricultural commodities and processed products. Following the acquisition, the Toepfer office in Hamburg has been renamed ADM Germany GmbH and handles the marketing and distribution of feedstuffs in Germany and Benelux, as well as international malting barley, energy and vegetable oil trading. Together with its subsidiary&mdash ADM EMEA Corporate Services GmbH&mdash ADM Germany GmbH provides also various commercial, shipping, logistics and administrative services to ADM businesses in the region.

actually ADM can sawllow Wilmar easily...and ADM is too big to be swallowed, thus my guess is : ADM -> Wilmar yummy

I recently read the word SWALLOW from corporate history info. My guess is : Will ADM swallow Wilmar 1st , followed by COFCO swallowing ADM ? : )

Question : Is COFCO BANKROLLING ADM (from behind the scene) in buying Wilmar stakes ? : ) NOTE : Matthew Jansen was from ADM hired by COFCO in 2015 to head Noble Agri HK. COFCO has been agressively make acquisitions over the past few years, including Noble HK and Dutch Nidera BV. (1) The Noble Agri venture will allow state-run Cofco to compete with the biggest grain traders -- Archer-Daniels-Midland, or ADM, Bunge Ltd., Cargill Inc. and Louis Dreyfus Commodities BV -- as rising incomes drive up food demand in China. Swiss rival Glencore Plc is also expanding into buying and selling cereals. (2) ADM has a minority stake in two joint ventures through COFCO: East Bay Oils & Grains in East Bay, Guangzhou Province and COFCO-ADM Heze Oils & Grains in Heze, Shandong Province.

Capitaland has recovered most of its post-Brexit loss by hitting 3.10 today, almost near its recent high of 3.13 ..... and yet Wilmar is still so laggard from its recent high of 3.47 / 3.48 ..... think now at 3.27 / 3.28 is the next level of accumulation before the its next run up ....

ADM has been buying Wilmar shares since last year 2015. The recent off market purchase from Martua makes ADM stakes in Wilmar at an astonishing 22% . Its ambition is not limited to only 22% i guess. Anyway, ADM Stock Price in NYSE : Archer Daniels Midland Company
