Very sizeable contract worth 510M USd but never move the price any wee bit as closed flat at 96c after being depressed for the whole day after opening at 97c.. Is this really an index stock? Are we going to see some upward movement from tmr onwards? I think so... huat ahh! |

" What really confuses me is why even the Cosco Parent Co. didn' t give a single ship bulding contract to their own SGX listed ship building arm. Probably says a lot a bout the competitiveness of Cosco in shipbuilding. |

Three Chinese companies have ordered a total of thirty 400,000 dwt valemaxes for delivery from 2018. The 12m dwt of new tonnage will likely be deployed on Brazil-China trades. China Merchants has given four valemax orders each to Shanghai Waigaoaqiao Shipbuilding (SWS) and Behai Shipbuilding and another pair to CIC Jiangsu, while China Cosco Shipping Corporation has ordered 10 at SWS, and ICBC Leasing has given six contracts to Yangzijiang Shipbuilding and four to Behai. The ships are priced at $85m each, a far cry from the $140m shelled out for the original series of valemaxes eight years ago. To put the scale of these orders &ndash 12m dwt &ndash in perspective, combined they are larger than the entire dry bulk fleet of Japan&rsquo s Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK), the world&rsquo s third largest dry bulk owner in deadweight terms according to VesselsValue.com. Commenting on the order, Martin Rowe, a broker with Clarkson Platou in Hong Kong, told Splash: &ldquo Believe it or not these vessels are actually needed.&rdquo Research from his company counts upwards of 50 VLOC conversion vessels (equating to 16m dwt) that have to be phased out on the Brazil-China ore trade by 2020. Many of these ex single hull VLCC to VLOC conversion vessels by time of phase-out will be pushing towards their thirtieth birthdays. &ldquo It would be retrograde to replace those with standard 180 capes or even newcastlemaxes therefore despite first appearances this order make sense,&rdquo Rowe stated. |

Seems like this contract was not announced on SGX website... If they get a contract for 6 ships at 85 Million USD each, total contract price will be 510 Million USD!! - that is material and should be announced immediately on SGX.., any confirmation somewhere on a major publication to prove this? 有 没 有 大 报 章 登 这 合 约 ？

Not so bad if you get it this am at 93/ 93.5c as now firm up to 95/95.5.. both Ezion 63, 63.5 and Ezra 119, 120 rallied back today after sharp losses this am too.. |

High in cash and only 1000 singtel left ... so decided to buy 2 hand at $0.935 to stay in market. If up later, sell. If drop, buy more ... dividend is good ... worst case, 2 to 3 years later, this will survive and recover. This is a good stock. |
