In fact, the stock is trading close to our ~S$2 fair value of SCI&rsquo s businesses excluding Marine, implying its marine business comes free.

Today, we will estimate the stock' s intrinsic value by taking the expected future cash flows and discounting them to today' s value. I will use the Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) model We now need to calculate the Terminal Value, which accounts for all the future cash flows after this ten year period. The Gordon Growth formula is used to calculate Terminal Value at a future annual growth rate equal to the 10-year government bond rate of 2.3%. We discount the terminal cash flows to today' s value at a cost of equity of 14%. Terminal Value (TV)= FCF2019 × (1 + g) ÷ (r &ndash g) = S$834m× (1 + 2.3%) ÷ 14%&ndash 2.3%) = S$7.2b Present Value of Terminal Value (PVTV)= TV / (1 + r)10= S$7.2b÷ ( 1 + 14%)10= S$1.9b The total value, or equity value, is then the sum of the present value of the future cash flows, which in this case is S$5.9b. In the final step we divide the equity value by the number of shares outstanding. Relative to the current share price of S$2.11, the company appears quite good value at a 36% discount to where the stock price trades currently The calcuation showed the intrinsic value of Sembcorp industries to be worth about $ 3.28
