Temasek just need to buy one company, and the rest of the companies will increase the values/prices automatically. Super brilliant move. Looked at all the GLC stocks now, all cheong after Keppel' s announcement.

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	22 OCT 2019 Temasek' s Keppel move may have SembMarine in its sightsTEMASEK Holdings' S$4.1 billion move to gain a controlling stake in Keppel Corp (KepCorp) is fuelling years-long intermittent market speculation of a merger of Singapore' s two major shipyards - Keppel Offshore and Marine (Keppel O& M) and Sembcorp Marine (SembMarine) - or even the privatisation of the latter Temasek will work with KepCorp'   s board in undertaking a strategic review of its operations. The review will not only assess how best to help the O& M sector - Keppel' s former biggest earnings contributor - stay competitive, but also work on other urgent reforms needed to required to bring the mojo back to KepCorp. Needless to say, a 51 per cent majority stake will help Temasek push through any reform The recent consolidation of China State Shipbuilding Corp and China Shipbuilding Industry Corp will create a combined entity with assets of around US$120 billion, while South Korea' s Hyundai Heavy Industries will have assets of about US$33 billion after its planned acquisition of Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering. On Monday, SembMarine' s market value stood at S$2.8 billion, while KepCorp has a market capitalisation of S$10.6 billion.

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	I wont touch any of the stocks that are rumored to benefit from  the partial offer by Temasek of KeppelCorp. There is a list of pre-conditions to be met by Oct, 2020. There are many IFs between now and the future date. If the pre-conditions are not met by then , the partial offer is cancelled. Giving the partial offer a year to materialize puzzles me. Is it lack of confidence or testing the waters?

Today, we will estimate the stock' s intrinsic value by taking the expected future cash flows and discounting them to today' s value. I will use the Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) model We now need to calculate the Terminal Value, which accounts for all the future cash flows after this ten year period. The Gordon Growth formula is used to calculate Terminal Value at a future annual growth rate equal to the 10-year government bond rate of 2.3%. We discount the terminal cash flows to today' s value at a cost of equity of 14%. Terminal Value (TV)= FCF2019 × (1 + g) ÷ (r &ndash g) = S$834m× (1 + 2.3%) ÷ 14%&ndash 2.3%) = S$7.2b Present Value of Terminal Value (PVTV)= TV / (1 + r)10= S$7.2b÷ ( 1 + 14%)10= S$1.9b The total value, or equity value, is then the sum of the present value of the future cash flows, which in this case is S$5.9b.
