I did a bit of look-up on Riverstone and they are mainly manufacturing disposable gloves.  But I also noticed that a big part of their manufacturing was producing gloves (may not be of surgical standard, I don' t know) for industrial clients.  As such, this segment will not be as significantly boosted by the heightened demand for surgical gloves because of the pandemic.  Of course, there will be a spike when industrial clients decide to stock up for fear of supply issues.  But still back to EPS and PER.

the sell down for TG was due to many banks play dirty margin tigtening across all major gloves counters in malaysia. Margin call force sell. not people run out due to company cui. this is a past event, hence any upsides from now is coughing from much higher of investors cash and of cos the dirty banks. Also, do think, how the heck the shares price rebounded from the dump back to current state (if company doesnt have fundamentals, can such a rebound be made almost IMMEDIATELY? see the charts), technical rebound can rebound THAT high?. this is because the banks has scooped up all the margin calls shares and those panic sold shares during the dump. banks are now more prepared to absorb the losses of their early issued warrants for these glove companies, else they major loss. unless there is another round of margin tightening, which is unethical and unlikely, there wont be such a dump situation in the near term Even if there is, all will join in the dump, but it will still bounce back. fundamentals. just dont panic sell TG Q3 announcement: 11 June 2020. hope to indirectly elevates med tec

Agree with you only to a certain extent.  Surgical gloves are not replaceable by re-usable ones. But there are also reusable gloves made of other materials.  Of course, we are talking of TG, UP and Riverstone manufacturing surgical gloves that are being used by healthcare workers and I have seen them replacing their gloves many times a day.  But, the market is really confined to healthcare users.  But face masks (while there are reusable ones) are needed for the population at large. Just an example of Sg mandating wearing of face masks at work, the demand for disposable masks surely must have increased manifold, especially when employers are under pressure to provide disposable masks to their staff instead of asking them to use the reusable ones. Anyway, there will always be arguments for and against.  At the end of the day, it is the company' s profitability (in whatever they produce and sell) that matters and the EPS and PER will be the key matrixes that will guide the pricing of the shares.

personally i feel parties who will buy medtecs masks are not those who will succumb to reusable masks. Was in a wechat group where most tradings of masks take place. Europe and USA were sweeping N95 masks at S$2 at nobody' s biz. And that price is for middle man. Those (rich) countries whose covid numbers are high, wont save such money

Tdy being fri, likely trading range will be quite narrow. Think price in Taiwan also controlled by BBs syndies. Currently they suppress there to collect here. Like last time they opposite pump there to distribute here. Think after the AGM, BBs will start to slowly pump the price here, and by near the 2Q release, they will use super high power to pump price which never see in Medtecs. Also good reason for them to super pump cos 2Q expected to have super hi qtrly profits like never seen b4 in kongsi. Just imagination lah.

face mask got a cap. for consumer more changing to reusable mask.. hence there will be a peak somewhere.  for gloves, mainly it has always been the enterprise consuming, and there is no reusable gloves for them. the demands are still growing. will stick to glove companies as compared to medtec for now |

I am reading their local discussion via a platform called PTT... not so much discussions over there but they call the SG share " mother share" and was making noise why the Taiwanese share is way much inflated than SG and concerned about manipulation as YTD it is about 600% already in stock price..

Agree.  Except that they are all catering to the healthcare PPE market.  TP, UG and Riverstone are mainly into gloves while Medtecs are in face masks etc.  So merely trying to look at market sentiment viewing healthcare sector as a macro group.  Sure, you can categorise TP, UG and Riverstone into the " glove gang" like some bros have done.

@Sg2022yu  You mentioned " local stock market" when making reference to " inflated" price locally compared to SG.  Are you based in Taiwan and trading on the Taiex?

True, TG, UP, Riverstone all moving up nicely except Medtecs.  Maybe because it didn' t come down too much during the last sell-down 2-3 days ago.

There was similar voice in the local stock market alleging " inflated" price locally compared to SG... and   heard some negatives news flowing within the market... because this one is really few days of +10% and then -10% v extreme for them.

Just thinking aloud, is it possible that Taiwan TDR price being " pushed" down to a level closer to Sg price so that management will not have such a hard time answering the price-gap question at AGM?  What do you bros think?  I noticed that Taiwan TDR price has been coming down (by quite a fair bit) over the past few days but Sg price support still quite firm.  52-week high is TWD9.50.  Today opening price is TWD7.24 which is down 24% from 52-week high.  Based on TWD7.24, equivalent price to Sg is still S$0.344.  Lol. | ||||
