I got burnt too many times to tell, be it 911, the financial crisis and S-chips that are worthless to zero value etc. All these lessons are expensive and I will always keep in mind to tell myself not to repeat the same mistakes again. Only recent two years that I started to turn around everything almost from scratch (after burnt). Starting from late 2018 and early 2019, I put myself on strict savings plan, saving more than 50% of my take-home pay each month, at least half of whatever bonus that I get from work. In two years, I am back on track to where I lost ground previously, and this time I am stronger and learnt the rights and wrongs in investing and even in trading. You can choose to invest long term for potential stocks, or choose to trade at the same time for short term gains if can go along with the marker swings. Stocks, even for good and strong ones, wouldn't go in one upwards direction. So, to trade them and have short term gains, sometimes is also a good way to make some coffee money for me. So long end of the month, I see my investment plan on track, my portfolio value still in shape, my profits going up slowly and steadily. For whole of year 2020, I am setting just a 10% gain target on my investment portfolio. Maybe it is too low compared to many gurus, I am happy enough to be in the green and beat that damn bank interest rates by 10 times or more. Be safe, invest safe, one way to save money is not to lose them, that my own reminder to myself. Thanks for reading, if you are. All the best guys.
